Probably in the wrong area, but given the antics of the last week, I am going to get a firearm to keep at the house. Any suggestions? Don't plan on using this thing too much and I think I have a family shot gun at my parents that is technically mine. Just never felt a reason to have one though happy everyone else around me did.

rem 870 full of 00 buck or an AR

2" .357 Magnum

When you run out you and beat the commies with it like brace knuckles.
Nice. Kind of funny side story I remember - My late Grandpa had a service issued .45 that he apparently converted to shoot .22 or something. Was discussing with friends all of the safeties on the gun (probably with some alcohol involved). Apparently the conversion negated the barrel safety and he shot a .22 up his arm.

A nice pump action shot gun. The sound of you cocking it should do the trick :)

Just announced that the charges were upped to 2nd degree murder and the three other officers charged with aiding and abetting
Good.

They need to be made an example.

Most of the LEOs I know actually work hard to be professional and maintain the public trust. Anything other than convictions in this case only serves to undermine that across the nation as a whole.

I would advise against overtly racking the gun in a real life situation.

By doing so, you let the other person know your location and that you are armed. You will have given away any and all advantage that you had in the situation.

Something like this would serve you well.

I would suggest going to a range and shooting it until you are comfortable and proficient with it.

I wouldn't worry to much about accessories. The only thing I suggest is mounting a light.

If you can find it, Mossberg 590. Not a fan of the Rem 870 and its limp elevator blocking the mag tube.

I have 2 Winchester 1300 Defenders. Both have the extra capacity tube.

It is reliable gun with a smooth operation.

Skip the 5.56 bb gun and go AK for CQC fun.

But all seriousness, over penetration is a real concern and most ya'll will be shooting like cops when the SHTF... Ie: 30 shots and 2 hits at 5 feet distance.

I got my scorpion for cqb...35rd mags

So 35 shots and maybe 4 hits lol

Shotgun. I've been eyeballing the IWIs, but man, they want some serious cash for them.

The quality is top notch on them though which is what you are paying for. I wouldn't trust a lot of lesser named brand bullpup shotguns with reliability and function.

Aint that the truth. When I got my CCW many years back you had to shoot a silhouette at 3, 5, and 10 yards. The guy next to me missed all 5 rounds.......at 3 yards. Jesus Christ man.

No thanks to the idea of my face next to a shotgun breech. My friend had a Tavor blow up on him and is lucky he was not maimed.
