I picked up this 2020 Yamaha AR240 this weekend for some family fun. We’d been looking for about a year half heartedly and then Yamaha came out with some crazy deals for May that made it make sense sooner than later. It’s my first boat so if anyone has any tips or must have accessories let me know!

Looks great, going to have tons of fun with it. When you buy fenders for it get bigger than you think you need, especially with that sloped back. Puts you in the danger zone bouncing on waves when docked. Hate for it to get into the paint.

I got the Yamaha contoured ones at the dealer then after some reading last night I ordered these guys.

Best decision we ever made ... granted, neither me or my fiance' couldn't decide who was going to drive ... so we got these instead ... :)

Here is a vid of me goofing around with a guy doing a top speed pull ... the boat was surprisingly quick ..

we go out on a 242 limited S a lot out here in the Gulf.. Best advice I can give you, is get lots of practice with jet engines, there is a delay. Practice loading and unloading. Ensure you know how to install the strainers correctly. ENSURE YOU HAVE LIFEJACKETS!!! Always Always Always.. Please for the love of god have life jackets. I'm a SAR coordinator for the CG and I'm still amazed how many people don't do that.. Have fun

Wow, that is a good looking boat. Twin 180s means some real fun out on the water with family. And yeah, DEFINITELY get life jackets for everyone, including yourself. Be safe.....have fun!

Good point here. They aren't like a traditional boat where you can cut the power and still have some steering control. If those jets arent turning, there is no steering
