Well thats not what you want to see. Sorry bro

Ahh damn! That is terrible. I’m sorry man.

All good fellas. Well, to be more accurate it blows BUT am I going to lose perspective because I need a set of heads/cams? Nah

More importantly, be in prayer for all these cities, police, families of all races who’ve been impacted...and humanity in general. We need it

It sucks.
But nothing to do but move on, rebuild bigger and better.
On a serious note, the easy answer is new heads, but what is the alternative?

Just mounted up the 17x11s and drove 20miles to the trailer shop. I feel you on that, the drives will make all the struggles go away.
Talk to you soon man.

Part 1 of the solution is here. Gen 2 aluminator shortblock. Felt like it was as good a time as any to bump compression from 9.5:1 to 11:1.

How much boost are you planning on blowing through it with that comp rat?

Posts are mine and do not represent my employer. Actually, my posts are riddled with humor and sarcasm and are not to be taken as a representation of my thoughts, feelings, or ideas. Same goes for my "likes"

I’ll be e85 full time so....all of it :D

Smart move.

No sweat on the heads... they’re actually cheap to replace.

I’m not going back with a gen 1 head. Aside from money (which is obviously a huge factor) there’s no reason not to step up a “notch” or two with heads/cams. More to follow on that as I make a few calls tomorrow

lol nice! Forewarning, you wont get much bang for your buck from a performance standpoint.

Stock heads are about $700 each including core charge.

Just keep that in mind when you write the check for $5000-6000 heads/cams that will net you 40 hp on a good day.

EDIT: Cams would sound good though!! lol

That ring gap is .15-.25 mm which is .006 -.010 thousands of an inch. Just letting you know in case you overlooked it.

Correct. I’ll talk with my tuner and make a decision but as of now I don’t feel threatened by that. The amount of cylinder failures at or under 20lbs has been minimal enough to lead me to believe other factors were at play
