Will do.

I'm planning on 1/2 all the way around. If it buckled I would lose my shit.

Also, I found out forum members on garage journal get a healthy discount on RaceDeck, so I called the place I ordered the garage track from and cancelled that order and went with the higher quality race deck for only $200 more.

This is valuable information, I got 40% my Armorpoxy 3 years ago being a GJ member. Not sure what the discounts are right now.

You tape a piece of plastic to the floor, if after 24 hours there is moisture under it, it's a no go.
That's the exact test that I had to do a couple of years ago. There was moisture after 24 hours so it was definitely a no-go. :( I was really disappointed because I had found a great installer recommended by someone I know.

Ive had 2 installers here tell me that test is good at showing condensation and nothing else.

Ive talked to 2 so far and Im getting quotes of $5.50 - $6/sq ft (440 sq ft)

Seems a tad high, but they base it on how much you need to do. Shit isn't cheap...

ya and it seems these guys have stayed busy so no reason to drop prices. I think I’m just gonna use outdoor concrete paint on my patio, can’t justify the cost but still want my garage done.

I just dread moving all my shit out into a storage container for a couple days

That was the bitch Jerry. While I was at it, painted the ceiling, walls, doors, replaced lights and changed out the outlets/switches to black and used stainless switch plates.
It was a good time to sort and throw out all the crap I haven't touched in years.

i painted and a couple years ago, aside from the doors it all still looks good. Lighting is done too. I’ve just got a lot of stuff since I actually work in the cars/house

I have been drooling over these floors since may, so I got a quote today from a navy vet-new business owner. It was UpArmor, not an epoxy and was over $6 a sq ft. Has a 15 year warranty and is flexible unlike epoxy. Wondering if the $2600 is worth it, as I guessed it would be about $1200. It would be a great time to clean and purge the garage and paint the walls

I just paid 3.75/sq ft, lifetime warranty on lifting/peeling. I was a little concerned because it was the cheapest quote but I know somebody that used him 2 years ago and all positive reviews.
Most around here were quoting 5.50+

Did mine last September with the commercial grade rustoleum epoxy. Wound up using the blue/black/grey flakes. I’m happy how it came out.

@blwn89gt, did you do the epoxy yourself? It looks really good.

Thank you, yes I did it all myself. When I bought my house it was 4 years old so the concrete was like new. I cleaned it really good, did the etch and ran a dehumidifier to ensure it was dry. The epoxy itself was easy to do. You mixed one can of epoxy with one can of activator and just roll it out in 4’ x 4’ sections, and toss the flakes in the air and let them fall into place and move onto the next section. I did two coats of clear coat but it was a pain to do because you can’t really see it as it rolls out like the epoxy. I also did two coats for a more wet look.

Guys are making me hella jealous. I have a good size garage but the flooring needs to be done also. Moving a Liberty 64 gun safe will not be fun.

Was that with a clear coat?

2 layers of top coat (supposedly same thickness as the places that do 1 they just do 2 thin layers)

It’s a poly something coating they put on. I have the same I assume.
