Don't knock it until you've tried it. Stock for stock, the 13-14 had shorter stopping distances. Will it make a difference on the street, no, probably not. Will it do a better job stopping the car from 185 mph at the Texas Mile, you betcha. I went with upgraded rotors and pads on the 4 piston setup and it's no match for 6 piston setup. It's all about rotor diameter.

No one knocked anything. I think my comment was clear, I'm not discussing the Texas mile I'm talking about the street. A lot of people find these threads and comments and assume they need the bigger more expensive stuff and it'll be great because the internet said so. Just like what we see with the GT350 brakes, its bigger so it must be better.
This was my experience and now I see why its so confusing, so I wanted to clear things up.

We can discuss more regarding different use cases and where someone might benefit but its gonna be very close and depend on the preference of the person rather than hard recommendations.

Should of went with Bullitt S550 6 piston calipers which are already red. Bigger pad too. View attachment 1642040

I considered it. According to one ebay listing they stated in bold print

"This part is not compatible with 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Coupe 2-Door 5.4L 330Cu. In. V8 GAS DOHC Supercharged."

Now they could be wrong but I went with this set up because I know for fact :

-its a direct bolt on
-will fit comfortable inside the rim
-wont need a master cylinder since the piston displacement is slightly larger overall with the 4 piston brembos
-in John I trust AKA catmonkey

I KNOW THE BULLITT CALIPER ... having worked at a Ford dealership for 30 years, those are beautiful calipers and your right, I would have prefered them.

But such is life ... full of compromises and overall for the reasons stated happy with the decision

Been told by my dealership the 13 14 Brembo calipers are national back order and won’t be available probably until mid June or July.

In reading literature and old posts on this forum, I know the 13 14 Brembos Our plug and play. I also know that GT Brembo Performance Brake calipers should be the same as the 14 GT500 caliper and plug and play which tells me but those calipers should bolt up to my knuckle. Let’s take it a step further, the bullet caliper also is a A plug and play for those cars with the GT Brembo Performance Brake calipers
So if you connect all the dots, shouldn’t the bullet Brembos be plug and play for my 07 GT500 knuckle and connecting points?

Give Full Tilt Boogie Racing a call or send them an email - they will be able to tell you what you need to do. Did you check Rock Auto for the parts? Full Tilt might have them in stock as well.

Mustang Bullitt Front Brake Caliper Upgrade Kit (15-20)

If it’s known that the 2015+ performance pack calipers will fit our cars and the LMR link states the Bullitt calipers fit all 2015-2020 Mustangs except Shelby 350 models than I see no reason why it wouldn’t fit your car Don. The only variable is the non stock wheels your running.

I totally concur

but I also know if I get the GT 350 R calipers, I will probably have to get a new master cylinder, wheel spacer and longer studs

My eyes are on either the performance pack calipers or the bullet calibersI

still going to do some research, but now I think my preference is the performance pack calipers, more readily available and less expensive. Whatever I get there gonna be powder coated red

The red bullet calipers are my second choice for there is a strong possibility I may need a new master cylinder Where as GT performance Calipers like the GT 500 13 or 14 model should be plug-and-play and no issues in fitment clearing the wheel

No need for a new master cylinder. Just the adapter bracket and proper wheels.

You rock John !!

Hey guys ... I use to run HDPE 3 at tracks around the country but those days are over. What I want is a bigger brake up front that I already have made arraingments to get the calipers powder coated red and I will attach the brembo stickers back on and install.
For a variety of reasons ... possible master cylinder upgrade, wheel clearance issues, etc the 6 piston brembos were the logical choice of which will be repainted red

Have them professionally painted, skip the powder per Brembo.

but isnt powdercoating better?
Powder coating is more durable, but you can screw up a caliper by not masking off the piston bore properly. I'd want to make sure whoever does it knows what they're doing. It's also easier to touch up paint. While harder, you can still chip powder coating when mounting a wheel, so you still need to be careful.

Here's what Brembo has to say on the matter.

Won’t be having to worry about powder coating anything. Spoke to LM I just ordered the red bullet Brembos with pads and hardware. As long as I use a 13 14 rotor which Are in stock and the 13 or 14 brake lines everything should bolt up
