Doubt it, but if they did, they'd have to reconfigure the engine a bit for a more usable truck-like powerband.

Doesn't need a V8 but it wouldn't be a bad idea. For me not having a V8 wouldn't sway me away from getting the next Gen raptor. I would rather keep it lighter and not have a big motor up front juat for the sake of sound. The Ecoboost motor has a great power and and great tuning ability.

I feel like the only ppl that have had motor problems have been the 2017/2018 guys and it is normal for the first couple years of a new motor to have to work out the kinks.

I had engine failure at 14k miles. Then the exact same engine failure at 41k miles. Good times.

Cant tell if you are serious, sarcastic or ironic? Either way it’s true.

Where is the EcoBeast Ford. You know, twin turbo V8? I’ve seen it in your test vehicles, give it to us already!

Somewhat serious. Maybe I should have said a 500hp version of the ecoboost.
IMHO I think they want to go with the turbo v6 for their 'higher end' trucks. Or a hybrid version of it. Once someone figures how to reduce battery weight significantly and with low cost this will be the future of pickups
This is total speculation on my part

The 7.3L gas engine only puts out 20 HP less than the 3.5L eco, but I bet it's not nearly pushed as hard.

I'd consider another Raptor if they put the 7.3L in it.

It's a 7.3L and still makes less power. What's the weight difference between Godzilla and the ecoboost? Not even gonna get into the mod ability . You had an 18 correct?

Same, although in ~2 years I'll be getting the itch for a new one, so if it's still the eco, then I'll get the 3.5TT

Shame there's rumors that Ram killed the TR variant of the Rebel. Would of preferred a 7.0L NA offroad truck. If the damn thing will ever be released. The TRX is going to probably start at a stupid high number + ADMs

Also, surprised Ram isn't countering the 7.3L engine for the 2500+ class. The detuned 6.4L has 46lb less TQ.

This is what happens when your fleet don't and can't pass CAFE standards and you are bleeding money as you pay the fines because of this. But everyone on here is like oh but Dodge is killing it. No they are not as Fiat for the last 2 years have been trying quietly to get another company to buy Chrysler with no success. But go ahead and Hellcat everything and so be forced to pay fines that you didn't need to. This is the main reason no one wants to take ownership.

I'm a tad ignorant in the HD/SD area of CAFE regulations. But what CAFE standards are the 6.4L not passing? They don't have to disclose the MPG numbers, right?

I know diesels are more regulated, no matter for car or HD use.

NA usually does make less HP.

Godzilla weighs 538 lbs. Not sure on the Ecoboost but I believe it's around 450 lbs. 88 lbs heavier for twice the displacement is not bad at all.

And yes, I had a 2018.

I found this Ford graphic interesting:
