I have a 2007 GT500 with a 2.8KB installed. Bought the vehicle this way many years back. Went to start the car the other day and all it would do is crank but not fire. A few moments later I started to smell gas. Looked under the hood and on the pasenger side bank I had fuel coming out of one of the injectors. So I figure I have a clogged/bad injector and that's why the car won't start.

I am okay with changing the injectors but the KB blower has the integrated elbow so I will need to remove the blower setup to get to the fuel rails so I can pull the injectors. Since I did not do the install I am not sure of the steps to remove the blower and what else needs to be removed in the process. Anyone have a "how-to" guide on this or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I haven't either, but have you tried youtube? It's quickly becoming my go-to with things I can't figure out.

Yup, searched the web and found a few install articles and commentary videos but nothing detailed enough to help. Will try to give KB a call to see if they can share a pdf of the install manual. Hopefully I will get lucky.....

its super easy to remove the blower. Pull the intake tube, then the Throttle body, remove belt and vaccum lines there is one on the back side of the blower that is a pain, two on the driver side and the ones for the egr and breather on the passenger side. once all that is done 6 blower bolts and thats it. when lifting the blower off slide forward and lift up.

There are more than 6 blower bolts holding my Gen2 on, FYI. I’m not sure how many the KB uses.

Thanks for the summary! Looking at the setup it looks like I will have to unbolt the coolant reservoirs to make room to access the pulley tensioners at the bottom of the engine. Does that make sense? Also any info on the torque specs for the blower bolts when I go to reinstalll?

Thanks again!

Kenne Bell has a discharge plate that bolts to the lower intake, shown below......

Then the blower itself bolts to that discharge plate.....

The blower slides into place as mentioned previously and then the 6 bolts attach it to the discharge plate. The discharge plate accepts the larger case blowers, 3.6 (shown above top), 4.0, 4.2 etc. or the smaller case blowers 2.8 and 3.2 (shown above bottom).
