It isn't a stock car. I wonder is that time was on the south/north course. It mostly certainly wasn't done on the grand course.

Dead even with Randy P's time in a c8z51. Yea, it is a really good time and I do believe the car was completely oem according to a BillyJ post I read earlier.

@ON D BIT said it was faster than the vette in another thread.

Bad ass video though! Sure does sound good.

What are the mods?
No one knows. At minimum it is missing the passenger seat and therefore lighter than what a normal GT350 off the showroom would weigh. I believe the OEM recaros weigh 50# each. Who knows if the rear seat is removed, etc. We have no idea what brake pads or tires are on the car either.

Time track semantics. The actual time is .39 faster. But they weren’t run on the same day. It may have been slower on the day Randy ran the c8.

Billy said track alignments and set up which tells me it was oem with VIR set up. In other words not showroom floor specs.

I thought the C8 was supposed to be faster than the c7 z on track. What happened?

I thought Ford's halo track car would lay waste to the c8? I'd be interested in knowing what a PP1 Mustang GT does on this track to better compare it to the c8 z51's time.

If im Ford, im embarrassed the base model c8 equals the 350's on track performance.

JFC, the track focused c8's are going to butt rape Ford's offerings when they come out.

Silver lining.........At least we're getting the Mustang Mach E soon!

Since when did the 350R come with rear seats?

No, the halo 350R was to beat the zl1 and it did. The vette supposedly is a sports car that should be lighter stronger and 5 years newer. It should handily beat it.

Did we ever get track times between the c7z and GT500?

Don’t get me started at how bad Ford is today! They’ve sold out since AM left. Damn Shame!

No knowledge if it’s modded or not, but Chevy historically sets up their cars with track alignments for magazine testing.
Really no dog in this fight, but man a couple of guys in here can’t see how a new 350R with a seat removed and optimized alignment matching the new mid engined Z51 track package C8 is very impressive to me.
Just shows the potential of the S550 chassis and these GT350Rs for fun track use is shockingly good.
Give credit where it’s do.
And yes I am fan of the C8 and completely dumbfounded by Fords current performance car state.

FFS an alignment is not a mod its an adjustment, if you take a car to the track and are too dumb to adjust it for max performance then that's your problem. This 350 had a track alignment and showcased how strong the platform is. A 19/20 350R would faster than a C8Z51 AND faster than a base/handling pack 2020 GT500.

This car was not an R btw

It most certainly is. All of the modifications in my sig pretty much transformed the car dramatically.

Passenger seat is there. You just can't see it well because if how dark it is and close it is to the camera but you can see the white stitching on the right side.
