Man I know. They look so good. I'm still thinking. I may need to ride up there and check them out sometime. I'm just not a huge modded fan and like the cars with cleaner metal. Crazy how some store these in the beginning when I think alot of that happens. Thanks for those pics.

I think part of the problem is you are comparing everyone else’s to your 200 mile car. They are almost 20 years old so you have to expect some surface rust in spots. Big difference from rot IMO

Anyone with a stock or close to stock coupe. Will someone just show me a pic of one they own? Lol.

I feel your pain bud ! lol

here's a couple pics of when i first bought mine in 2012 and also one from more recently. it had the chrome wheels but then i swapped them out for the machined style. has been a california car through and through.

i love to drive mine everyday and this one already has almost 70k on it - way too much for op lol. i bought it in 2012 from a friend of mine who was the original owner. it had 10.8k and i paid $25k - it only had an intake/catback and was never pullied.

i'm one of those folks who probably won't ever sell either one of my cobras, i just enjoy them too much. they're mostly stock - pullied eatons/t-56/irs - which makes for a fun, reliable ride. anyway, good luck with your search op!

Thanks for posting those pics. My lord your seat looks better than most lower mile cobras I see. Looks nice. Yea I dont mind paying up for one. But to get it home after doing so then have to start cleaning everything is just not what I'm after. There are cars with mileage on them that dont have oxidation. My 70k foxbody from down south has no signs of anything. All in the area they are in plus storage.

Agree to a certain point. However if car is being sold really close or what it was new don’t see why car should Not be how it was new(minus the miles)

The car is in excellent shape Jerry. It’s not for sale so I have not cleaned the underside at all. We are talking an afternoon of cleaning to make it perfect.

As for what it would take to own it, I’ve sold enough to know the market. If people don’t like what I’m asking, go and find another. I hate to be like that but they are so hard to come by.

Dom I have not seen the underside of your car. So I really can’t say. I was simply stating that if Price is up there rust imo should not be an issue. I agree that SB is hard to come by. Yes ,the ball is on your side you own it you name your $!

I appreciate everyone giving my thread some attention. Doms car isnt rusted out by any means. Just some normal oxidation from a car driven up north. I have not ruled it out. Matter of fact we have kept in touch hes willing to show me anything I want. The sonic blues in my opinion carry about a 5k increase in price over any other color cars because they are more rare. I definitely dont mind paying what's fair for one. Would I pay more if he had one from down here with no oxidation absolutely. But we will see what happens his is the only one I've considered in quite a while. I think we both agree if I get it and do some cleanup it will be suitable for me. Cosmetically the car is perfect.

Robby I say pull the trigger! If Dom’s car is clean in and out and some elbow grease will get you were you want to be. Do it!

Believe I Talked or SMS'd you like a year ago though not 100% sure. Still have my SB Cobra coupe. 2nd owner, 100% stock, ~62.5K miles, Atlanta area. Always mulling getting a new GT but trade in pricing is crap as always and I still enjoy driving the Cobra on the weekends. Love this generation and also having an 04 GT occasionally do pair shots of them together behind the garage or on the street.

Because, when the vehicle was new, it cost more than 30k. And 17 years of inflation. And as they become older good examples are hard to find. Supply of good cars shrinks, demand and price rise. Amazing cars show up quite often. Now you have to wrestle in your head, how much are you willing to spend vs. Your expectations. You guys will find what you are looking for

Tcas4200, if nothing happens with RobbieDiesel, I would be seriously interested in your SB. Can you please let me know? I appreciate it. Thank you.

I have no problem with that. I'm looking for one that is perfect cosmetically or very close to it. His would be a good project for someone at the right price. What I want doesnt have to be a super low mile car as l long as car is clean and stock or very close to it. i just dont have the time to redo one. I'd rather pay up to get one that doesnt require anything other than cleaning if needed. I appreciate all the comments on this thread. Maybe we can help others find what they want as well as me.
