Installed the Griptec pulley today. Pretty nice piece.. The Hub doesn't fit great at first. Had to pound it on with a mallet.. But it's good..

Been a while since I posted.. It's been the hot season down here, and with covid, the hurricane I've been busy.. So update..
I found a broken motor mount and trans cross member. I'll be upgrading the rear end next week.

Strange 35 spline pro series axles, spool, 9" ends, braced, new motor mounts, and custom cross member, batter kill switch installed.

New 2.90" pulley is on, and I'm shooting for 5.4's maybe a high 5.3 in the 1/8th.. Should make around 23psi now :)

Nice. Are you controlling converter lockup with the Holley?
No I have it manually off of a button. Believe it or not I have not one thing for my transmission running through my holley. Although that might change at some point. I’d like to know slip and pressure.

It can do any of the above. If you had a auto VB it could shift for you , but since you don’t then it can control lockup, OD, and monitor all of your pressures, slip, and temps, etc.

Hmm I’ll have to look into that. I like manually controlling lock up and I don’t have a OD. But good to know.

Good upgrade as every car seems to respond to lock up differently.
And unless your car is almost 100% strip, I’d rethink the spool.
My 1100rwhp 4000# GT500 does great with a 35-spline Strange S-Trac, plus lifetime rebuild if needed.
I do love the 9” though

Car is about 95% strip so it's close enough. I have no desire to spend that the $1200 on the S-trac but it's an option down the line if I don't like the spool, or if it comes back to a street car. I've been thinking of pulling registration off of it because I really don't drive it ever on the street.

Alrighty, so I haven't updated this since my last track outing. Medusa fought me pretty good. Short of it is the 114.5" belt was to long and I was getting belt slip. It wasn't making the boost that it should have that's for sure. That's since been remedied. But I did get a new PB regardless.
60ft: 1.217
1/8mi ET: 5.502
MPH: 125.92

That was leaving soft at 4k rpm.. At 4500 it's going to be nasty, and that's with boost falling off and slipping at 7k rpm. No doubt this setup is going to go 5.3@130mph and has a 1.1 60ft in it.

I have the K081131HD belt on there now and the tensioner is about 95% maxed now vise 60%. So it's going to hold. Just gotta wait for the next outing..

Thanks man, it's getting there. I'm really hoping that I can get into the 4's with a Vortech.. I think that'll be a all out pass honestly. Like I'll need to do more weight reductions, a billet wheel, a 2.70" upper and closer to 30psi lol. The 60ft is getting it, this suspension is so dialed in it's stupid.. Also helps that my local track rentals are effing awesome and they radial prep the track for me..

My goal is to be the fastest blower only cobra.. I think I'm in the top 3 right now from what I'm able to look up and see.

Well decided to hit up a TNT at my track on Sunday. Was kind of a last minute thing but I needed to get some logs with the new pulley now that I fixed the belt slip issue. It didn't disappoint. It has 5.3's in it as it sits after looking at the logs. I was only leaving at 4k on the 2-step and I usually leave at 4500. Shifting to high as well the car is unsettling a bit on the top of 1st. Anyways I think I clipped the quickest blower only cobra for 2020/21 as of right now. The car was seeing about 22-23 psi. I have some stuff coming up that'll put the car deep into the 5.3's or maybe even 5.2's. Enjoy :)
