Interestingly, my GT4 Mustang has a Roush-Yates racing motor in it. 585 HP, 8000 RPM, and designed for endurance racing.

A GT40 with a high-HP NA motor in it would be pretty damn sweet. Like I said, you guys are a bad influence...
I hear "pretty damn sweet" in a Larry David voice. Prettyyyyyyyyy, prettyyyyyyy damn sweet.

Unless Ben ordered the sprint pack, that car should be globally homologated.

I have a feeling he went for the sprint pack lol.

Both the Mustang and the McLaren are basically a software update away from being homologated GT4 cars eligible to race in IMSA and other Balance-of-power (BOP) managed racing series.

However, since neither of them is currently being raced in a BOP series, the Mustang is uncorked to 585 HP (vs ~450 in GT4 form) and the McLaren has their "Sprint package" engine file loaded which similarly kicks it up close to 600HP. Because ... power...

Interesting. Just hard to imagine a car that looks like that working to keep up with a Mustang, but thats what BoP is all about ;)

Maybe you'll grace us with another of those over/under lap videos with the 2 GT4 machines.

You've seen the video where I chase down a Lamborghini Super Trofeo EVO race car in that Mustang? The platform flat out hauls when you set it up right; it's fast by any measure you care to use.

The Lambo pulled away on the straights like crazy. Could you have kept up on a "not-so-curvy" course? Not saying your car is a slouch for sure, what are the specs on the Lambo? Is this your Mustang on 585hp? Or bottled up?

The Lamborghini is ~400 lbs lighter and has 620 HP, plus more downforce. My Mustang has 585 HP.

The sound of that engine and transmission is awesome.

That is awesome. I thought that it would be guys just takin' it easy around the track. They were really thrashing those things. So much fun!
It's worth a trip if you can ever make it out. That's Goodwood revival, my wife and I went last year.

You'd expect them to take it easy on these classics but some of the more competitive classes are run by actual racers and the cars are used as a tool to win races vs show pieces that pick up dust in a museum.

It's easy to convince the wife to go even if she doesn't care about cars or racing, it's a big throw back party where everyone dresses up from an era that those cars used to run (20s-60s or so).

Goodwood and LeMans are on my bucket list of races and shows to go to, Goodwood especially because it is a showcase of just about anything and everything relevant in the car world past and present and you actually get to see them run the cars hard.

Ditto for me, did Lemans a few years ago, such an amazing experience.

Do you think that is more credit to the platform or that "Mulitmagic " in the gt4 though?

Been a while since I been through this thread! So whats the new rides Treynor? Or better yet what is coming up?

It's @yonly65 on Instagram ; that was my first license plate, on my first car (a '87 Mustang 5.0 LX hatchback) and I got it just after California upped the interstate speed limit from 55 to 65.

Regarding new cars, I'm trying to be sensitive to the fact that a lot of people are struggling right now. I am fortunate to be in a job which can be done remotely without degradation, but many folks are not so fortunate. I do expect to get both the GT4 and the GT MK II on track in the next couple months, and I should have more content at that time.
