Im sure all of us would of done the same. But where was backup? Was department protocols followed? Once again does the punishment fit the crime? All these will be factors for court and possible law suits. Personally the cop could not wait to pull his gun, could not wait to slam her, couldnt even put her in cuffs, had to taze her to feel like a man again.

Over all makes for great entertainment at tax payers expense.

I'm pretty sure there's an unedited version of this video, I feel like I've seen the whole thing but what's posted is only a small portion of the officer's body cam

Lol.

At around the 1 min mark:

Cop: Are you related to Hank?
Fat Lady: I'm his mother.

Pretty clear the cop didn't think much of his old school chum Hank.

"Hey, Hank. Remember when you gave me that cheapshot in gym class? Let's just call it even."

Ultimate revenge.

If a 20 year old refused a ticket, said no to being under arrest, drove off, and when caught still put up a fight I wonder if some of you would think differently(as in they definitely deserved it)? Being old doesn't mean you just get to drive off and not face consequences.

Hmmm. Maybe you need to watch the videos again. And more carefully. The cop, from what I saw, did pretty much everything by the book. SHE decided to knowingly drive with defective equipment. SHE decided to refuse to accept/sign the ticket. SHE decided to take off. SHE decided to resist the officer when he tried to cuff her. SHE decided it was smart to try to kick him, which she admitted to. Man, she had SO many opportunities to have avoided what happened after. This was 100% on her. I don't care if she was 65 or 25. She was all wrong. She should have signed the ticket (which is probably not an admission of guilt), gone to court, and pleaded her case. Hell, if she then provided proof that she fixed the taillight, there would be a pretty good chance that the judge would either toss the fine, or reduce it. Very dumb decisions on her part. JMO.

Why was the officer placing her under arrest for refusing to sign the ticket? Didn't think agreement or signature was required to get cited, and certainly not cause for arrest.

As a former police officer, I cringe at this stuff because there is no way for the cop to win. You can't let her abuse you - it's not effective police work and, frankly, not safe. You have a job to do. In many jurisdictions, they must sign the ticket or be immediately brought before the judge to answer to the traffic violation in question. Once they refuse to sign, an arrest is warranted.

And . . . even when done by the book, you know its a lawsuit and a public relations mess. You get the Perry Mason types who think they know the law better; you get the smucks who have watched every episode of Cops who think they know a better way tactically; then you get the turds who just hate that a police officer did his job (like a few in this thread).

Never mind the bleeding hearts who can't believe poor grandma was tazed. News flash for you . . . intermediate weapons like pepper spray and tasers are utilized because they don't have long lasting effects -- unlike in the days when you got the snot knocked out of you by the cop for resisting and spent a week in the hospital.

not at my post...
I've never been tazed, because if a cop gives me a ticket because of something I've done, I take the ticket. I don't get all pissy. She 100% deserves her winnings; playing stupid games wins you stupid prizes.

Exactly, my father was an ADA in OKC for a little while. One piece of advice he gave me when I was a teenager.."son you might beat the rap, but you will never beat the ride"...

If that's the law here, then that stubborn fleeing old potato did all she could to earn her electro-zappage.
