65-75k, depending on overtime can make more.

What about your area?

40-50k is about the going rate. Cali’s cost of living is very high compared to the rest of the country.

No way would I do what those guys do, for 40-50k. I think they should earn more.

I have an odd interest in gore. The crazy thing is how some accidents, resembling a garbage truck falling off the Empire State Building, leave a driver without much issue.

I used to frequent liveleak for a dosage of gore every once in a while. Brazil seemed to be always ready to provide the goods. As I am getting older, I have became less and less interested in gore.

You aint lying about the cost of living. Way over priced. I wouldn't want there job either. But at the same time they have a lot of sitting time waiting for calls. Most people that i know in the field use it as a stepping stone to get into the fire department or hospitals where they make the big money.

I was sort of like that when I was younger. Not crazy into the real ****ed up stuff, but the occasional shock factor.

Now it’s nothing I’ll seek out, but if it gets sent to me I’ll watch it.

As one who spent many years on the road as a police officer, saw a little blood and gore. Never bothered me, but I don't miss it.

Recently I watched a graphic documentary on the San Diego McDonald's shooting back in the early 80's. A good portion of the film included the police walking through and photographing and cataloging the scene. The scenes were out there and uncensored but still not an issue but show me someone spitting chew spit in a bottle and I'll lose my lunch.

EMT's make around $15/hr around here. Kindergarten teachers make $100k and work part time. That's really wrong considering EMT's work weekends, holidays, weird hours, etc.

i know here in LA some are firefighter/paramedics and they make a killing due to OT. one friend is a firefighter and makes almost $200k. and that's not even during the wildfires. i cant imagine the OT they racked up there (well deserved).

"Faces of Death" and Ogrish were the big thing back in high school. Guess when you're that age its taboo and kinda a rush. Once you get older it's just kinda nasty and sad.
