I am looking to get rid of my '13 GMC 1500 SLT Crew Cab. It only has 34k miles on it and is in really good shape. It could use a good detail and it would basically be brand new. I am looking to get out of it for a few reasons but mainly because it is not comfortable. The seat doesn't work for me. I'm 6' tall so everything should be fine but I cannot get a good position. I have a sore back in less than 20 miles. The color isn't my favorite (burgandy/tan interior). It doesn't have adjustable trailer brake control. It doesn't have Nav/backup camera. I know the last few are minor issues, but they irritate me a little none the less.
Now, this is where I'm questioning the logic of it. I can switch it out for a fully loaded 2013-2015 Ram or Ford but it would have substantially more miles: 75k-100k. It would have all the things I want but the idea of trading in my "new" truck for a "used" truck doesn't seem wise to me. I wouldn't know the maintenance history on it either. I wouldn't know if it was a decent truck or a pos. Now I don't put many miles on my vehicle - less than 5k a year - so it will still last me a long time. I would also get a vehicle that is from the south. My truck has seen 7 years of salt already and getting another one out of the rust belt would be another bonus in making it last longer.
I really don't want to put in a whole lot of cash to switch vehicles but maybe it is the only way I should consider doing it in getting one with less miles.
Completely stupid or worth considering?
Thanks!
