Am I supposed to be surprised or impressed, because I am neither.

Not really sure how how a dedicated two seater sports car beating a full size family car from a dig qualifies as "breaking hearts". Oh look, the lighter, mid engined rear wheel drive car hooks much better from a dig, who knew?!

Sure, the Charger has lots of power but it also weighs a ton (no surprise) and is a family car for crying out loud. It's supposed to carry your hot ass milf wife and your minions to the movies or soccer practice at a furious pace. It could carry nearly half of the C8's vehicle weight in load capacity and has 50% more cargo space (that isn't split in two, either).

It's pretty asinine to be comparing such dissimilar cars in the first place. Imo, all this does is showcase the Charger as a powerful family car rather than prove how much better a much lighter, less powerful, dedicated two seater sports car really is.

The Z51 C8 is wicked. (As is the 2020 GT-500.) I can only gleefully imagine the excited with a Z06, ZR1, and the hybrid Zora.

So, this is a Hennessey video showcasing a factory stock C8. I expected to see a Hennessey modified C8.

I think you might be overthinking this a bit. This was nothing more than two fast American cars lining up and letting it rip. No 5-10 minutes of b.s commentary like every other video out there. Simple and to the point.

Good vid

I do think the C8 is amazing. I'm glad GM finally went that way with it, I remember seeing the old concept car growing up and thought it wouldbe a great idea. The current car is amazing in basically every way.

Just seems silly to me to line up two vastly different cars. If the roles were reversed, I'd still be saying the same thing.

I can honestly see these two cars lining up on the streets randomly. If I was driving a hellcat and came across any modern vet and they wanted to play I would. The same goes if I was driving a vette and came up on a hellcat. I would do it for the fun of it not because I think one would be an easy win over the other but just to see the cars get up and go. So as far as the video goes, to me it's cool to see what they can do against each other whether they are "supposed" to be lined up against one another or not.

You would think that some people were forced to watch this video clockwork orange style, Holy Hell with the complaining.

I for one like to see any head to head comparisons. I wish Ford had something to compete with the Chevy.

They are comparable though because both are currently two of the most popular domestic vehicles that people buy, mod, and then drag race on the street and track with. They made this video comparison for the same reason you see street racing videos posted of Chargers, Challengers, Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes all racing each other on the street. Hennessey is appealing exactly to those people.

So you're telling people people in the market for a 4dr family car with a huge trunk are cross shopping 2dr MR sports cars?

Yes, both are fast, but that's where it ends.

Nothing about how a MR car launches from a dead stop and outruns a 2T+ 4dr car with poor weight distribution should impress anyone on this forum.

I’m sensing major butt hurt. Typical Dodge fan boy response.

Neither outcome comes as a surprise. The more I see of the vette the more I like.

This forum is actual proof that people cross-shop these two cars. Has nothing to do with the body style. The fact that they both have big, high horsepower V8s and RWD is all that matters in the comparison.
