I've doing some research on this mod and I've been unable to see any pics of how the hose ends are supposed to snake around the belts and idlers. If you have pics, please post them. Otherwise, please tell me what you did to make it work.

J2 has this pic on their website, but I can't tell if the top fitting is a 90* or 45*. It looks like a 90* in this pic, but I'm not sure what would clear the base of the idler pedestal.

I think I recently saw they make a new style tensioner setup that Y’s out to clear the hoses now.
I think I saw it on their IG.
I have been heavily considering this as well, but for the money I rather just get the whole IC combo from them and be done.
It’s really a rabbit hole though because to really take advantage a trunk tank is suggested. At that point you are $2500 or so in. But they quote you will never see over 100* with the flow mod and trunk tank on straight water.

Disregard my last post on that tensioner. Here is what I was talking about and now that I look at it, it wasnt what I thought. I think it was the 2020 maybe that I was originally referring to
2007-2014 Shelby GT500 Auxiliary idler/tensioner | J2 Fabrication

That thing looks like it could be a nightmare to ever get those hoses off again though. lol
J2Fab is really good with getting back to people though. I would ask them, but yea all the info I have seen is to use a 45*-90* fitting coming out of those lines

I have one waiting to be installed. I have the same questions regarding the fittings. I did have a extra intercooler core that I had J2 mod to fit the larger flow tubes so I just waiting for the right time to pull the intake swap the core and install everything else. I'll probably go ahead and get the J2 idler so that I can do a little mock up so I can get a idea of what it's going to take to route everything. Hoping that all this plus the Titanic will keep everything fairly cool.

It’s 2 90* fittings that go behind the idler, just barely clears it all.
Thanks, that helps. Are you using 1" hoses for the inlet and outlet? How are you routing the inlet to the heat exchanger? Fore or aft of the radiator support?

It's hard to tell from the picture, but how much clearance is there between the upper hose and the top bolt on the idler pedestal? I'm intending to plumb with 1.25" hose. I may have to start that transition further away from the adapter.

You should be able to angle up a little to gain some clearance. I have everything in front of the rad support. It exits the top pass side of the HE then runs back to the driver side and runs through where the inlet tube piece was.

These are pics of the new J2Fab tensioner that works with their larger lines from Mod Nats last year. I was impressed with their quality and if another option I’m working on doesn’t pan out, I’d use this to have 1” lines for my entire intercooler circuit.
