Comes down to what you are towing. 5th wheel or goosenecks, diesel. Bumper pull 3-5 times a year Id go gas. Ive owned both. The Turbo Diesel is a tq monster but initial cost is 10k more and the maintenance is more as well diesel. Ive had a handful of gas 6.2L Superdutys and have been more than impressed with them and they handle almost anything that I throw at it. One of my 11's has over 160k miles with no issues and runs great. I am wanting to get my hands on a new 7.3L gas Superduty soon hopefully.

If youre buying a new 3/4 or larger truck.. go diesel and save yourself from having to upgrade again in the near future. Lots of discussion on this, but the diesel just does everything easier with more piece of mind.


Thats legit as **** sir! Are your tie downs rated for hold such a heavy load? Any issues with the loading door?

Im pushing the limits of the back door. I believe its rated at 3000 lbs. The trailer itself is a 14k gvwr unit and weighs right at 10k empty so legally, im fine towing it with the mustang inside.

Although i wouldnt have any gvwr left for water or anything else really.

Would be cool to take it short distances like Bakersfield drag strip for an overnighter.

We had a 44' class A and downsized to a 24' class c on a sprinter chassis. I love that thing. It's so nice to make a last minute decision to go somewhere and be driving your hotel room a few minutes later. Not needing to worry about what some disgusting pos was doing in the bed the night before you got there is soooooo worth it.

I've said it before on here but don't ever, ever, ever buy a Forest River or a Dynamax. Never, never, never.

That's my take away, getting to sleep in my own bed and eat what I want on a trip. It also saves me a ton of time at events, like 3 hours per day. I should have bought on years ago.

Had a few over the years. Like most things, they are great if you use them. If they mostly sit they are a waste that can quickly go to shit. You already learned the best lesson, buying used.

I had a 36 ft toy hauler and now have moved on to a 40ft Montana high country we ended up keeping it at a seasonal site and take it on 2-3 trips a year. Having a seasonal site is great it’s like having a second home and you don’t have to worry about storing it plus you get to pull it out and travel whenever you can .

Do you use a slide hitch or is there enough clearance between your cab during tight turns?

No I don’t have a slide hitch. I have standard b&w companion. The toy hauler was tight I had to really watch the corners of the truck and rv cap when pulling into sites. Normal driving it was fine. The Montana I have no issues with clearance. I guess the caps are just a little different.
Crazy thing is the Montana is longer and heavier and some how I picked up 2 mpg’s

I bought one and changed a few fittings to make it run off the on-board propane tank. It's a fuel hog, but does a great job of attracting track girls at an NMRA race.

+1 on this fire pit. Works great. Yes it sucks propane like a good girl should! I have the exact same one. It’s in front of my motor home a few posts up.

Anyone want to see some coverage on the site of a Cat C7 Powered Diesel Pusher? That C7 is technically a Ford engine (available in the old F-650) so I think it's fair game.
