I have fell in love! I work for a generator company (Champion Power Equipment) so have always talked to customers / owners of RV's and always thought, what a $ pit and I would never own one, that was years ago, now I'm 34 and 3 kids in (two are 3 yr old twins) and an opportunity came up where i was able to buy a small 22' foot trailer privet party for a good deal and decided to do it, already took it out twice and learn a ton each time I take it out (still have a lot to learn) but especially when you have kids this is the way to camp! Just wanted to share, that is all haha...

Toy hauler is next in the list. The “horse” has been purchased now I need a cart.

What have you learned so far that you wish you knew from the start?

Had a few over the years. Like most things, they are great if you use them. If they mostly sit they are a waste that can quickly go to shit. You already learned the best lesson, buying used.

Nice!
1) Bring gloves for sewage hose! lol
2) how to properly setup and use a weight distribution hitch, the ST pull the trailer good as far as power goes but for 22' trailer shes a lil piggy, about 5k Lbs loaded.
3) learning how to properly tow and "back up" the trailer, (still learning this one but starting to get good).
4) Mount a small dry erase board up somewhere in the trailer, it really comes in handy when making notes or list of items you forget, and you WILL forget something.

@SID297 Yes! I have heard this from many people at the camp sites, best advise, use it! It is a 2016, the original owner states they used is 3 time then parked it, looking at the "like new" condition of the trailer I beleive him, I paik $9k for it, he wanted 12.500

Nice camper! We were looking at getting into one but got cold feet due to all the issues that come with them, also we would have to pay storage fees. Our campsites in NC are closed due to the shut down. Good luck with your new adventures.

Very cool. Where were you camping in that last pic? We are looking for a good spot to get away some time this summer with our 5th wheel.

You are doing what I hope to be doing someday with my little ones! Looking at picking up a leftover 2019 F450.. well... if there are any left when my wife and I start looking that is!

Id love to get a Grand Design Reflection 367BHS. They can apparently tow a small trailer behind it, so I figure thats where the toys can go. I think a toyhauler 5th wheel would be great, but my wife doesnt like the idea of most of our guests sleeping in the garage. Ive got no such reservations, but you gotta make mama happy haha.

Camping is so much fun, especially with kids. We've just got an older pop up right now, but plan on upgrading in a few years

Nice trailer, we love taking our 3-yr old out in our 20' Grand Design Imagine. There are quite a few good vloggers to watch on youtube that have great advice on TT camping.

Keep your Daydream has a REALLY good YouTube Channel about RVing. Big Truck Big RV is also another great channel for RV and truck info that's more focused on the truck and RV rather than actual RVing.

The Story Till Now is also a bad ass offroad/overland channel as is Trail Recon. Love their content!

@gimmie11s Bad ass! very nice @JetmechF16 your setup would probably be our next move if we were to ever upgrade.

Your tow vehicle makes me cringe. I've seen my fair share of grocery getters on they're sides pulling a trailer on the highway.

I know, I am within the capacity of the Exploder, but closer to the limits then I would like to be, next truck will be a pickup.

Seriously consider a F250 at min. These trucks tow/haul almost anything. The F150 is not a good tow vehicle and maybe a 1/2 step up from your Exploder.
