Also, when it comes to street racing, virtually no one will choose to de-tune their cars for a run. That's the equivalent of asking a lighter car like a vette to add cinder blocks to even the weight out.
People generally want to win vs. voluntarily handicap their own car, so someone else can win. Run what you brung and hope you brung enough. There will always be faster cars.
