My rpm belt was $61 shipped from rock auto.
And yes sub $300 for the Whipple piece is good, especially if you need it!

That's actually pretty reasonable in my opinion

I thought the same, good price for a good piece. That was shipped. Price is actually $275.

I took the car out today with the rpm belt. Made a couple of hits and went to redline on one of them. No start up noise, no slip, just boost. So if its holding my boost and looking good doing it I'm sold.

Initially when my rpm belt was new, zero squeaks or chirps on a cold start up. Now it does.

Never a chirp with a gatorback.

That's weird as hell. Mines 3 years old whisper quiet.

When you posted that first photo of yours.....and I saw those cords bleeding thru....I mentioned it was different. Mines perfectly smooth. Gates either changed their build process or that one you got should have been rejected.

My bad! That was gm2ford's belt.

I have no idea then. It's either different pulley materials between our 2 setups.....or possibly weather. How cold was it there? I doubt I've ever started my car below 60 degrees in 3 years.

Oh well. You'll have to go back to gatorback and just fight the dust battle. I can't stand start up chirp!

It's been around 60 degrees. Green belts do it at any temp.

Ok.

Did you ever get her out and see if it held under WOT? The other possibility is.....if it's so loose on tension that it's not even holding wrap....that could be loose enough even at start up to make chirp noise first fire cold.

Not yet, this week I will. That's also a possibility.
