New Coyote A50XS crate engine is leaking oil into the spark plug tubes.
I have less than 300 miles on the 5.0 Aluminator Crate engine and noticed some oil getting on the passenger side header.
After some investigating, it seems the valve cover, spark plug tube seals got mangled on the engine build. Cylinders 2 & 3 plug holes were full of oil.
Since the engine was built with their most apt mechanics and this occurred, thought I would ask for tips on replacing the seals.
I have a new valve cover with tube seals installed. It seems like, lube the seals, set it in place and bolt down.
Anyone got advise for avoiding what happened previously?
thanks,

I pulled the valve cover and found 3 of the spark plug tube seals not pressed into the bottom of the VC.
#1 Cyl was also leaking. I do not know what happened.
The factory did not press the seals in properly, the VC got dropped and dislodged the seals, mech just slid them onto the plug tubes and wished it well?
I put the new cover on and all should be good, did not have time to crank and drive.

Not boosted and no catch can, Yet.
I run a JLT on my f150 ecoboost and 13 GT500. Got a home made one on a 99 Mustang Cobra.
Just finishing up my Lund tuning. The last tune was a good improvement on low rpm throttle response.

Ok. When I boosted mine, my engine did a similar thing. It did it twice. Blew a valve cover seal the 1st time & made me think I did something wrong. Put it back together with a new gasket & seals started to leak. I replaced them & added a catch can & problem stopped on a gen 1 coyote. Different problem I supposse.

There is a Ford TSB on valve covers leaking, but I think it is Gen II. It might be worth reading if you need it.
The PCV port on the valve cover is baffled pretty tightly.
I can see where crankcase pressure might get high, with no where to go.

This could be a Friday engine, but it is one of the advertised hand build engines. The builder puts his signature on a tag and glues it to the valve cover. I wonder what else he said, that is good enough, it will be OK?

He probably said "Good enough for government work".
