do you think it could work without the inner plate?

i dont know how feasible it would be to tinker with the existing mold and i sure as heck ain't paying $2k+ to have another one made lol

No you need both cause there’s a latch on both sides, only thing you can realistically do and the cheapest and easiest route is to just sand down the front so the front plate sits flat without a gap. We’re not talking a lot of sanding took me 5 min or less to sand it

maybe a silly question but im just thinking aloud here. what about cutting the opening in the hood bigger, so the hook is only catching on the plate. right now the square opening in the hood latch plate is the same size as the opening in the hood. if you cut that opening bigger, than just the plate would be there. doing the same with the inner plate as well. so the hook just grabs on the one, stainless steel outer plate. would that work?

i got word back that prices have gone up quite a bit in addition to tariffs that have been tacked on, to the tune of about 15%!

i have to go over the numbers. i may be able to absorb that without raising prices, i just wouldnt be able to sell them at GB pricing again. they would just be at full retail pricing which is listed on page 1. if anyone would be interested at that point, shoot me a pm. i wouldnt ask for any deposits since there would be no GB, i would just have a certain amount made and then when theyre ready to ship people can buy them. or if they wanted to put a minimal deposit just to secure a certain type before they sell out, like $100.

most cost-effective and easiest way it to sand it down a little and keep everything the same

Happy to report that my hood arrived in great shape and is already at the body shop. If all goes well I'll have it installed over the weekend and have some photos to post up soon.

Steve has been great with communication since we reconnected and I certainly hope nobody got the wrong impression about his character -- I just couldn't find a way to get in touch with him... If anything, people should be impressed with his integrity and ability to deliver, even when his customer (me) was a pain in the ass and went MIA for months/years at a time!

Big thank you to Steve!

Uncle Sam I did what you did about x amount pages back in this chat. But I went down to the point that now I won’t be able to use the latch I’ll have to resort to drilling my hood and using aero catch... I think I might have gotten a hood from the first batch and not from the second group buy.

1. Should have only taking like .050 off. 2. Should have messaged me cause we’re local. 3. Don’t trip cause I have had the aero catch for years now and no issues.

Mines from the first batch as well

I messaged you.

Has the latch issues been fixed. I would not want to run the pins.

the latches are the same. no real way to fix it without redesigning the mold. with 100% cf its recommended to run hood pins due to how light they are.

Posted is a video on a porshe spinning at around 200mph. You can see the car is not stable when he shifts into 5th gear. My friend whom used to have Porsche's, M5's etc said in the porshe anything over 120mph you had to have both hands on the wheel because the front gets so light. We both went to the mile events, we both had Terminators, we both had my hood design. At about 160 to 170mph i took my hands off the wheel for a second or two and car went as straight as an arrow. I told him what i did and he said he did the same except his speed was about 10mph slower than me. He said he never been in a car as fast that was as stable as his terminator was.

so it looks like im going to have four 50/50 hoods made since those are more popular and affordable. should be ready in a few months. if interested, shoot me a pm. can take a small deposit to secure you a hood.
