Anyone use one? I want more insurance than the factory crank but im to cheap for billet. I read that it significantly enhances the strength of the crank but its hard to know how much.

I do not think I have seen cryo cranks before, but if you got money to push the car hard enough to justify doing it, you have money for a billet crank.
PS: how often have you seen cranks break in anything Let alone a 5.4/8 that this even worries you? Serious question.

Had a few people chime in in another thread about breaking the snout off a few differnt factory cranks..... one was with a WAY over spun 2.3 tvs wich are not known to be tough on cranks like the big boy blowers. The cryo treat process only costs 2-300$ so it is still a few thousand dollars cheaper than billet.

Interesting. I have not heard this being a common GT500 thing.
Cryotreating has been around forever. But if no one has tested the tensile strength, it wouldn’t be something I would do.

So what are your goals that you feel this is needed? There are guys running around over 1kwhp without fancy crankwork. More so they haven’t been talking that I have heard about snapping them either.
Do Cobrajets have Billet cranks?

I dont think its very common, such is the purpose of this thread. I was trying to see who has done it and how it has worked for them. Im planning on building a motor that can make 1100rwhp and i know that if i say that it probably will eventually go further than that.

Mmr sells a "race prepped" factory 5.4/5.8 crank for $1150 shipped wich they descibe as
"Cryo treated, polished, and race prepped. Will handle up to 2100 HP with better durability and less wear."
