Youre ballsy to play with that stock lol

I made some scalps today, so I already have some profits to sit on....but yes, definitely risky. Shippers has a big run a couple years ago, and now would be the time to do it again if it's going to happen.

I'm also long 250 shares of UVXY lol, gonna be a fun week.

the crazy DRYS pump and dump years ago was still to this day the most insane trading i've ever seen, rivaled maybe only by the great bitcoin cash coinbase listing pump and dump. i was dumb enough to mess with DRYS but managed to come out with a little profit. i bought in the morning, went to take a crap, came back to my computer down $2k, hopped in the shower, got out and up $5k, tried to hit sell as fast as i could, and ended up with like $500 in profit by the time it came back down LOL. the bitcoin cash pump i just did 3 short 30 second trades and made about $1500-$2000 on each one. after the 3rd one i called it quits and then it tanked after. MGT was another good pump too back when McAfee pulled his reverse merger vaporware scam

I didn't sell a single put today. I bought a few super cheap SPY calls with short expiry just in case we got some crazy pump. I also opened a position on SNAP that's about 75% calls and 25% puts. The broad market dump at the end was super bearish. I am maintaining that last Friday was the top and I'm targeting at least 260, possibly 240 on SPY before a large rebound

WLL - Scalped this multiple times today. Holding a good chunk at .67 overnight. Might even be a good buyout candidate, I might hold this.
WTRH - Took 6K @ $1.02. I got stopped on this one the other week, but it's looking good again.
SHIP - Did some scalps today, but holding my main position from yesterday still. Overall, it did exactly what I wanted to do today. Hopefully they drop a PR stating offering is complete.

EDIT: WLL - Took off half at 1.08 in AH. Expecting more tomorrow.

Well I bought more SPY calls today but holding my puts and QQQ puts. My SNAP lopsided strangle got crushed by theta today. Still time left so I'm gonna keep it open. Also picked up a bunch of USO $3 calls. May keep running into and through the reverse split. I read an article yesterday that the reason for the may crude contracts dropping to negative was some Chinese traders were idiots and didn't roll to June soon enough

I'm staying away from USO. Who the hell knows what may or may not happen there. I was looking at the same calls though!

It's a pure gamble. With the casinos closed right now I've been dumping way more money than usual into my Robinhood account. I may even start trading on Bitmex again soon

So that means their stock should plummet right? So how do you make money off of that? Or are you saying in general the market is going to tank even further?

could just be a false rumor. what it should do and what it will do are two completely different things especially in this crazy market. i would probably see where it ends up at the end of the trading session and open a strangle for next week since it's bound to have some big movement either direction

Do you have a dictionary of sorts so I can decode what you are saying? What is a strangle? Not trying to be a tool, but not knowing the lingo throws me off. I have not traded at all since I have no clue WTF I'm doing. Lost all the shits and giggles money with weed stocks last time I tried to dabble in this game.

He is talking about options.

I've read healthy portions of books on the subject and watched tons of videos, they are still wickedly complicated to the point I barely play with them.

Essentially with a strangle he is playing a stock in both directions.

a strangle is just buying calls and puts at different strike prices with the same expiry on the same underlying. basically you are betting that the underlying will make a significant move either up or down before your expiry and don't care to gamble on the actual direction. however if it's flat you're screwed

unless you are playing with a ton of money and playing it safe, options are very hard to be successful on. i would say the average person has a win rate of maybe 5-10% at MOST. that's why if you aren't a pro (i'm not) and you aren't willing to risk large amounts of capital (i'm not) then you should treat it as a gamble and only spend what you can not only afford to lose, but are 100% willing and ready to lose without getting super stressed out

I would agree and disagree. If you're throwing money at OTM calls or puts because they are cheap, your win percentages will look like that.

If you are calculated about what you are doing you can have a really strong win percentage with limited risk, but the payouts aren't the lottery winnings like most people assume/want.

I have a buddy who makes around $120k per year with options and he never risks more than 5% of his portfolio. His win percentage is around 70%, by design, he can push it to 90%-95% but he said by the math it makes more money to shoot for 70%.

Very, very calculated and obscene amounts of smaller trades.

Like 6 hours a day, 3x per week amounts of trades. It's something I want to learn how to do, but I do think he is a little reserved in showing me exactly what he does.

He wants me to understand it and then do it myself, which is honestly the right way.
