Hey, guys I had a pilot bearing go bad, so before I fix that and put the clutch back on I'm wondering peoples thoughts on the condition of my dyad clutch. It looks good to me nothing sticking out saying to me its bad, just looking for some opinions to make sure all looks good before I put it back together. I don't want to be pulling a trans any time soon again hahaha.

Thanks

Looks good to me. No blue-purple on the flywheel or PP so she's not slipping and getting excessively hot. Good amount of material left on the disc.

The land of commies and socialists!
Looks good to me. Only thing I would do is replace the lock washers on the pressure plate bolts, if they are captive you'd have to replace the bolts too.

I had a couple back out on me once and when I looked at the washers they were smashed and not doing their job. Cheap insurance imop.

There are no washers with the dyad clutc to my knowledge, just studs and arp hardware. Thanks for the tip tho.

What were the symptoms of bad pilot bearing? Similar to a bad tob? Was it a ford one?

On my car, the sound happened as I would be taking off from a stop, it made a metal on metal screeching/grind, I could feel it through the shifter.

So was I a constant sound? I wonder how to to tell the difference between tob and pilot bearing.

No the sound only was there when taking off once I was moving I couldn't hear or feel it, my car is pretty loud. But basically there would be nothing audible until I put load on the car in first gear. It made zero noise pushing the clutch in and out while in neutral. As soon as it was in 1st gear and i would release the clutch, a horrible noise would happen. Loud metal on metal way louder then a blown tob.

Okay thanks. I'm starting to get a little sound when in 1st gear while releasing the clutch.

Only have about 700 miles on my setup. I remember it doing it a little last year, I just had to adjust the tob. Mine doesn't do it all the time.

It's a good clutch so far, but I will say it doesnt like being slipped very much.
I've found that out too. I can pretty much release the clutch and the car will move forward without giving it any gas.

It's pretty good for the most part, I have a decent sized set of cams in my car, so my car usually likes a bit of throttle before i release the clutch.
