Shipping a Motor

Anyone on here ever ship a full engine before? Trying to get a complete 04 Cobra motor from Texas to Maryland, and have NO idea where to even start.

Bolt down to pallet. Building box around. Means it will get there undamaged. I used R&L carriers to ship the engine.

Its currently secured to a pallet, I just have no idea what carrier to use. Will need residential pick up and delivery.

let a broker deal with that. don't buy the insurance - it isn't worth it. the box should have a few holes cut in it so you can peek inside to inspect it on arrival, because once you open it, its yours

Excuse the ignorance, but...broker?

I have used these people a few times. Dont even consider calling a freight company directly. LTL is all about "discounts" which are HUGE, and by calling, you will get none. Its a crazy business.

I used Day & Ross, door to door came on a truck with a power tail gate, Sorry I don't remember how much shipping was

have them drop it off at forward air. will cost you like $100

do NOT use a LTL carrier IE : RL, yellow, fedex, XPO....they WILL charge you resi fees and lift gate fees, both at the pickup and delivery. And the bill will come AFTER the fact. Trust me....just go with forward air.
