I am busy normally to play much computer games but this pandemic is really pushing my boundaries.. I went and made an impulse purchase yesterday and bought Logitech G920 SIM wheel and shifter set up. Now because of that, I have to buy a couple of games.. I am sure I will be making some other unnecessary purchases related to this due to being locked at home. Any recommendations? Also, if you have a set up, if you don’t mind sharing pics and specs as well as possible cost, that would be great!

thanks folks

Let me know how you like the wheel. Almost bought that one the other day but couldnt find any in stock locally. Would have grabbed one otherwise but hate waiting on impulse buys.

Edit: Also where'd you get it from?

I haven’t receive it yet. I got it from eBay. Once I do receive it I will post pics.

I don’t even have a stand or anything. Literally all I have is an Xbox one which I don’t use much and out of boredom, I just bought this. I think I am gonna need a stand to mount this or my coffee table will do. We will see.

Some people are super into this. Honestly, if I had a house, finished basement and all, I would start investing into a full racing sim with big monitors and all. It would be something cool to have in the basement.

I have a pretty low-cost setup (not in the budget for anything more fancy unfortunately) but I spend a couple of hours on it maybe 2-3 times a week.

I have a Playseat Evolution rig (from back in like 2011) and a Logitech G27 wheel. Bought a cheap used PC at $400 AUD and a 32' TV to use with it too. PC specs are i5-4590 CPU, Nvidia GT 1030 GPU, 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD.

Excuse the mess of wires.

All up, I've probably spent $2000 AUD (I think that's roughly $1500 USD) on it. You ideally want a dedicated setup - back when I didn't, I would rarely use it as it was just too much hassle setting everything up and then packing it away again after. It's made such a difference having a little 'sim corner' where I can just start the PC and go without any setting up.

Also, out of all the sims I've tried, iRacing is definitely the best. Both in terms of enjoyment, being all online based, as well as physics and force feedback. However, it is veeery expensive at $15 a month, and $12 for each car and track you purchase (USD).

It's good fun. Would recommend. I'm pretty involved in motorsport, and to some extent, sim racing so if you need any help, more than happy to.

I dont have one, but have considered it a few times. Each time I have looked, Playseat seemed to be the best value for a wheel pedal mount, and seat.

I run a Logitech G29, a cheap Ebay rig set up, Jegs GS-1 sport seat and a 36" 1080p TV. Ill grab a photo tonight. OTD price for all was right under $400 w/ black friday deals and such. Id love to pick up the Logitech shifter for the G29. I added the spring mod to the pedal set and fixed a few loose items on the ebay rig to get it to feel solid.

I really want to get into i-racing but screw that monthly subscription garbage. I already have enough bills to deal with and a video game bill each month isnt worth it. So been playing GT Sport for now and occasionally swap the PS3 over and play some GT5/GT6 when i want more car selection options.

If you can swing it, I would send back the Logitech and order Fanatec. Worth its weight in gold.

O
aren’t they much more expensive when compared?

also, your set up looks great

oooooo wondered if anyone had one. Been eying them for years. Want one so bad, maybe I can justify it at do it right once.

Think the basic "Forza" package is like $1400

honetsly, I would spend 1500 for a set up if I liked it. I don’t have room in this tiny apartment at this point anyways to get a real set up
