GT500 Hyper Dark from American Muscle

Hello fellow Mustang owners

I have a question concerning offset. I am looking to buy the GT500 hyper dark wheels for my 2013 Mustang GT from american muscle. I am looking to go to a staggered setup. I'm going for a GT500 type look. I would like go with a 19 x 9.5 (+35mm offset) in the front with 255/40/19 tires and a 20 x 10 (+48 offset) with a 285/35/20 in the back. Based off the stock GT500 OE wheel specs which are 19 x 9.5 and 20 x 9.5 with +44 and +50 offset the back should work fine, but my issue is the offset difference in the front. I'm afraid they will stick outside the fender, which I don't want. I have seen calculators concerning offset and by everything I figure math wise they will stick out. Can anyone provide any feedback on if a 19 x 9.5 wide wheel with an offset of +35mm tuck in the fenderwalls of my car. Thank you for the help. I do not want to buy wheels and play trial and error.

I suspect that +35 was chosen to end up close to flush, as that seems to be the most popular appearance goal as far as wheels & tires are concerned.

How much 'poke' is really going to bother you? This is what about 3/4" poke looks like - could you live with 1/4" if you weren't running as much negative camber as this (I did do some quick math comparing your wheel dimensions to mine)?. Would you dial in a little extra negative camber (like what's in the picture) to bring the tops of the tires back to/toward flush?

Or do you need the tires to fully tuck inside the sheetmetal?



FWIW, the wheels in the picture are 11" wide, with offset not too much different from +35, so they would sit with about half of the 'extra' 1.5" of width on the outside, 3/4" further outward. That's where the 3/4" came from.

I have the same front wheels only with a 265/40/19 and they fit perfect. I think mine are only 9 inches wide, even with a 265 they do not bulge and look perfect. I can take more pics if you need me to, just shoot me a PM on here and ill send them over. I have attached a couple pics below. I went with a 18x10 in the rear 305/45/18 so I could run a tire with a taller sidewall (drag radial).

Also, id highly recommend stepping up to a 265 in the front and a 295 or 305 on the rear.

Where did you get your wheels from good sir? DId you get them from american muscle?

Yes, those are the hyper dark GT500 rims from AM. They are cheap and made in China but they look good. For as much as I drive the car these will work just fine.
