It's not a state emissions issue folks. Since you're probably under a Stay At Home order, go Google epa fines and actions. It's federal. It's felony. There are people who have lost their businesses, jobs, homes over this in the past couple of years. Each of them are named in public records.

In this day & age, if there is a tuner that will turn off 02's, he's TOO STUPID to work on my car..

Wow, this post is crazy. If any tuner does this, all they need to do is read this thread and see the reasons not to do this. People will talk.

This is amazing to me how many people are like ANTI shutting the sensors off and getting offended over this.
Whether you turn the sensors off or not, is a moot thing. The owner removing the cats is more the issue than shutting off the sensor feedback. We all know we can trick the sensor regardless and we all should know the sensor means absolutely nothing other than a light telling you there is no catalyst. Which duh you removed the cats

In the grand scheme of things who cares about the sensor being turned off?

Hi,
I'm not against turning off the sensor. I agree with you, the damage is not turning off the sensor, it's removing the converter. Now, when you turn off the sensor, you are defeating a Federal Emissions Control system and that's where the Federal Government comes in. Now, when the Government wants their pound of flesh, they will fail the car, but for the tuner, the business owner.....they will hit them with a fine that could cripple their business. The business has so much more to lose.

I have the SCT Advantage software with R&D access (their highest level). If I get caught turning off my O2 sensors, I would fail emissions, that's about it. I'm an individual consumer. Now, if the EPA dug deep enough, SCT would remove my R&D access and put me down to Professional access. That's pretty much my punishment. If a shop did the same thing, they might get fined, might lose a business license, lose emissions certification, etc. It's pretty painful for them so it's a big risk and the problem is people talk. I was on FB and someone was bragging about how Lund turned off his O2 sensors in the tune. He's putting Lund at risk bragging about that on a public forum.

I agree. I have a close friend that the EPA decided to make an example out of him.
He has been fighting it for years and the tune of like $4M in fines. Not sure if that includes legal fees as well.
I think these topics need to be ended as soon as they start.
Let’s all just realize it is being done and not talk about who it doing it.
If we are in 2020 and you cannot google how to shut off your light, you shouldn’t me touching cars
