As long as ur tune is within standards just gut the cat and put in back on. Ma is no more strict than CT and I passed just fine with a gutted cat. Its just a visual inspection. They're not gonna take it off and examine it.

You are 100 percent incorrect.

Ok. I mean I’ve been tuned by 2 diff tuners in The last year and both did without me asking.
All the other ones are posting videos on the regular of cars with no cats on their channels. Lol
2+2 = 4 where I come from.

You do know that dongles and licenses can be queried, right?

Let em’ query! After all Ive been through, its almost funny to concern myself with such a minimal offence! Besides it isnt even illegal where I live in my part of GA. You can rip the whole exhaust out. Dont even have to have emission checks. You can get a ticket for too loud though...

In MA, without the cats, by the law, the car fails visual inspection. That's just what it is. It would also fail in NH, by visual inspection, if you don't have cats. Now, are they ways around it? Sure. Personally, I don't like not having the cats in the car. It sucks to drive in good weather with the windows down because the car stinks. Just my opinion though. Some don't mind at all, some want the loudest thing on the planet for whatever reason, and some just can't give up the few hp the cats steal.

My 13 GT500 is making 705/733 through the factory midpipe and cats. If the cats blow up at some point, I'll put high flows in, but my car will always have cats. For me, it's not worth the hassle or the stink. YMMV

When they blow up it may not just be the cats that are affected though.
They have taken out many of motors and have claimed a few cars to fires as well.
Hence why a lot of guys remove them when making some steam.

Same here. The catless h pipe sounded good, but Im getting too old to smell the fumes for slow speeds or at idle. I honestly have a bit more low end torque WITH the factory catted h pipe too believe or not! Plus I like the option of darting done a side road and flooring it without being heard for a mile in every direction. Only when absolutely necessary mind you!

I did my basic bolt on mods about 5 months ago, and with the catless lethal h pipe, first thing VMP did was turn off the rear O2 sensors.
PM me your name, I am going to look you up in our system because that shouldn't be the case.

I mean turned off the “cat protection” instead of turned off the O2 itself. Said that wrong...They turned the cat protection back on when I went back to the factory exhaust set up.

Did I miss where you were tuned by us? As of the end of February you were still with Lund. I just want to make sure we are on the same page if you are saying that VMP is shutting rear O2's off. Because we don't.

This is why you never mention your tuner’s name when talking about this stuff.

Correct. Said it wrong. Bought VMP parts through lethal. Lund tuned. And it was cat protection turned on and off. Not cats as I corrected above. And for the record...VMP is great stuff!

And don’t take offence. Let me be very clear to all... I said it wrong.
No offence towards VMP, love the parts and company.

It's not a state emissions issue folks. Since you're probably under a Stay At Home order, go Google epa fines and actions. It's federal. It's felony. There are people who have lost their businesses, jobs, homes over this in the past couple of years. Each of them are named in public records.

I am sure we all get this. So do the tuners that do it.
Again this is why you do not advise who did this when taking about these things.
