So, serious question, why not take advantage of the 0% at 84mos. and invest or even bank the let’s say, $20k you’ll spend on that mommy SUV?

This is a great point but not really possible for me/us right now. We just moved to start my career and she is unemployed. We're planning on starting a family (meaning she won't be able to work really) and I can't afford a car payment.

Things to come from Tesla now that completion as arises?
I threw in the last one again to show financial stability without competition. Remember they lost $600 million last year and still their stock tripled from $300 to $900 per share.

0-72 on 20 vehicles no sd Shelby or raptor.
Still can’t be combined with no payments.

Notes:
Why 60 on a 18 month old(21 my vehicles will be out soon) 250 truck?
0-72 when everyone else is 0-84.
The bullitt mustang now can be had with 0-72.
20 150 is now 0-72 when the brand new 21 will be out soon.

Lolol

As usual, Ford is a day late and a dollar short.

The direct competition is not only offering 0 for 84, they are giving $$$ off the price as well.

Also, many consider the Ram/Silverado lines to be better vehicles.

Ford is a pathetic disaster. They arent going to make it out of this without begging for bailout money. I hope Trump gives them the middle finger.

know I'm late to this conversation but who in their right mind would do a 84 month payment, that's a 1/3 mortgage payment... that's ****ing dumb

It's not tax absurd and basically a loss the second you drive it off the lot plus crappy warranty and cost of ownership thus there are no true issues future wise

Once out of my lease I'm buying my next vehicle cash and walking away from dealers altogether.

They are losing market share in the only thing they sell anymore, trucks. Sucks to be them. On top of the 150 being $10k over priced they have a brand new one coming out this year that will close the interior gap with ram.

0-84 plus rebates should have been on all 150’s like yesterday! Once the 21 150 hit the lots no one will buy the 20’s.

2021 typically roll out after summer shut down. Ford is still shut done last I saw. So limited 2020 production and likely a delayed 2021 release. (or early end to 2020 and no changes for 2021 models).

Youve never driven a light duty diesel, obviously. I lol'd at your "spreadsheet" comments because theyre so far off it made me giggle. Your mythical hemi must get 20 mpg

Most of that decision is preference. I like the Hemi a lot too. Both have advantages/disadvantages.

Ok lets go to school.
3.0 Powerstroke is a $4000 option. 3.5 Ecoboost is $600
DEF is about a $.01 a mile
I'm going to go with the EPA's rated mpg, not some hyper milers internet claims
Powerstroke-22 combined mpg's
3.5tt - 18 combined mpg's
Over the course of say 100,000 miles you'll use 4545 gallons of diesel and 5555 gallons of gas with the ecoboost.
Diesel runs about $.75 to $1 more a gallon. Currently it is a $1 more
PSD will cost $13,635 in fuel +$1000 in DEF
Ecoboost will cost $11,110
$3600 initial cost plus $2500 more in fuel plus $1000 DEF equals an additional $7100 of operating cost over the course of 100,000 miles.
It's slower, tows less, and I'm sure there is other things the PSD needs that cost more then a 3.5EB.
10-15 years ago when regular and diesel were about the same price and you didn't need to add Obama fluid or the engine wasn't choked by emissions the PSD or EcoDiesel would've made sense. Today it just doesn't, imo.

So i recieved and email from Chrysler saying they are combining 0% 84 with some incentives on certain models. Ill have to look my self to see what all qualifies. But definitely more than ford is offering.
Let me know if these new incentives are on their website...
Jeep Rubi 2.9-72 right now.
Scatwide 2.9-72 and 4850 rebate.
Ram Rebel Crew 0-84.

If Lincoln doesnt start offering 0-84 with incentives on the 2019s or even 2020, i maybe going to dodge for the 1st time with a scat challenger as a DD.

Give it a few weeks and Ford dealers will bend over and part their cheeks to close a deal...

One in Ohio just did. I traded out of my 18 Raptor for the exact same 802a 19’ for $5634 OTD. My trade had 28k miles. I was paying 3.99 originally new loan is 1.99/60 no early payoff fee either.
The bank also gave me 90 days differed I just put the extra money down upfront.

My guess is that Dearborn is hoping that when the Shelter in place orders are lifted, the damage wont be as severe. Problem is that when they do start production again, they need those factories cranking to make money.

The last month and through April will probably see an absolute nose dive of sales numbers with the summer not looking good at all. I doubt that even when everything opens back up, we will see pre-COVID buying. Hell, most people have taken decent hits on their credit score, and presumably are just trying to keep essential bills somewhat up to date. For people heavily impacted by the shutdown, my guess is that those people will be skittish on making any kind of large purchase for a while.

I predict that Ford will eventually compete with FCA for sales with solid factory cash and 0% terms on a larger chunk of model years and models. I think we will see more aggressive offers when factories start production again, especially F-Series.

Unfortunately for Ford, people have seen how aggressively FCA is willing to help dealers move product. I think the average joe looking at an F-Series truck probably doesnt care if he gets a RAM if the RAM is a smoking deal. I know that RAM absolutely has my attention. I prefer an F350 Dually, but a Cummins HO powered Ram 3500 Dually would probably satisfy me as well given the deals on them right now.

Lol ok says the guy in a lease.
Lol this. Plus free financing means I can add more money into my portfolio every month vs paying cash up front and not having that as investable income.

Buy smart and keep for longer than 2 years and you shouldn’t be upside down on the loan. Buy and trade in same year and of course you are upside down.

I don’t think ford realizes how bad this down turn is and how long it will last. Unless they just want to keep product in lots.
If that’s the case both ford and dealers will just be paying interest on their debts.

It is already "sold" when it is delivered to the dealership.
