Man, I don't want them to go under. I'm not a fan of electric cars, but Tesla is a leader in this segment.

More than likely they would get a bail out. His other business are tied in to the government so he would get the buddy bail out.

I know this thread is geared towards new, but what are y'alls thoughts on used? We're looking at taking advantage of the market as well, but don't want to pay the premium of new.

You think we should hold tight until later in the month and see who's desperate to move inventory? Also, what is there to be gained on a $24,000 vehicle? If it's pennies, or dimes, on the dollar, are we better off pulling the trigger now if we find something we like?

Used will be great buying too. Best would be cash deals as interest rates currently arent great on used cars and thats where dealers will make up that money.

Mpg yes, Performance maybe not. I haven’t driven one, but forums say it is lacking.

Agree but who TF wants “performance” out of a 6k lb truck? I’ve got a 1000hp mustang for that ...

I’d rather have the 480 lb/ft torque and 30mpg of that diesel.

Before the lift and 35’s, 21 mpg average. After lift and 35’s, 18 mpg average.

And yes, I tow an open trailer with my mustang on it. It tows better than my old suburban with the 5.3 and my friends 6.2 raptor.

Im surprised about the 6.2 raptor.

All his businesses are tied to the government. That’s the only way he would operate/own anything. He never puts any capital into anything he owns. Why would he, it’s all lost at the end of the day. All his companies run by losing billions each year.

Before you buy do a spread sheet on the operating costs of a Hemi vs Eco Diesel
Diesel @ $3/gal vs Gas @ $2/gal.
Plus the initial cost
DEF, oil changes etc.
Before I bought my '19 I did one on the Ford diesel vs the 3.5tt. I would have to drive something like 40k miles a year for 5 or 6 years for the diesel to break even.
Besides that the gas truck tows more & can actually pass cars.

I can say this about Trucks owning a 2018 Ford F150, the interior is night and day better in the Dodge Ram. Ford REALLY skimped on that one. I have dash warp and glove box design and noise is just horrible. There really is no comparison. I made that comment on the F150 forum and people REALLY got butt hurt. I'm a car/truck enthusiast before a Ford enthusiast, shouldn't we all be? I love my Fords, but I'll call a spade a spade.

Old Lady's in the market for a new vehicle. She wants a small mommy SUV. She's got enough to buy car outright. *edit* I mention the "has enough to buy car outright" so youse guys understand that all of the financing incentives mean absolutely nothing to us.

I'm wondering how long to wait before we start actually going to dealerships vs just looking at inventories/prices online

Good question, the dealers are crying for help, but the manufacturers may wait until lockdowns end.

Youve never driven a light duty diesel, obviously. I lol'd at your "spreadsheet" comments because theyre so far off it made me giggle. Your mythical hemi must get 20 mpg

Most of that decision is preference. I like the Hemi a lot too. Both have advantages/disadvantages.

So, serious question, why not take advantage of the 0% at 84mos. and invest or even bank the let’s say, $20k you’ll spend on that mommy SUV?

Especially now which is soon to be the pinicle of investment opportunity.
Even counting the extreme depreciation of a new vehicle that 20k investment can go a hell of a lot farther.

Little by little...
0-60 on 19 250+
0-72 on 20 vehicles no sd Shelby or raptor.
Still can’t be combined with no payments.

Notes:
Why 60 on a 18 month old(21 my vehicles will be out soon) 250 truck?
0-72 when everyone else is 0-84.
The bullitt mustang now can be had with 0-72.
20 150 is now 0-72 when the brand new 21 will be out soon.
