How to reinstall the diff pumpkin?

Yeah you definitely have to remove the cross brace. I ended up mounting the rear bracket to the subframe. It just seemed like it provide the largest angle of entry.

It was a pain. Especially up until I sort of figured out how to manage the angle of the pumpkin to get it past everything that was in its way.

I did use a scissor style transmission jack that I borrowed from my dad. It came from Harbor Freight. It certainly did make it a little easier I think.

whoops you are right, my bad. i always had the rear bushing attached to the subframe first, just like how you did it

I just put it in. It was much easier going in than it was coming out. Had to set it at about the 2 o’clock position to pass the hangers then rock it back straight. Slid right in. The hardest part was keeping the front mount bushings in place while lining up the damper and cross member.

Yeah. All in all it isn’t TOO bad. I’m still putting mine back together. I’m replacing a stripped wheel stud, stabilizer links, rotors and pads at the same time. I’ll be getting all that done Saturday.
