soooo the c5z ......what about limits and boost ?

Its LS platform obvoiusly, which means 6 bolt mains and a generally very strong bottom end. I wouldnt worry about 650whp or so.

650 on a 3100 lb car............ good god.

I think if it were me though, i'd do a nice mid range cam/head package and aim for 475-500 wheel. Holy shit that would be crazy in this car.

I'd bet it would run 10s at next to 130 with 500whp.

It is.

What surprised me the most was how capable most of the stock suspension was on it with those power levels. It was absolutely glued to the ****ing ground, and the seat/steering wheel feedback remained amazing.

Having owned both a C5Z and C6, i can say with complete honesty that if you are going to daily drive it, the C6 is the much better platform. It is comfortable, has great creature comforts like heated seats, removable top, is respectively fast, and the rear hatch has a surprisingly large amount of room to work with.

If its a weekend toy, the C5Z wins allll the way. It is a raw, brutal adrenaline rush. I turned my Z into a daily driver and it was fun for the first year, but got old after that. Taking back to a weekend car really made me love it again.

Good luck in your search!

@nxhappy , forged rotating assemblies shouldnt be expensive at all for a 5.7 LS6. This one from Texas Speed is an example:

TSP 347 C.I.D. LS1/LS6 Rotating Assembly

When its time to tune, check out Arizona Elite Motorsports:
https://www.arizonaelitemotorsports.com/

When I was planning my shortblock/cam build, I was going to switch to them from Lund Tuning. Owner runs a TT 5.0 Coyote last time I spoke with them. If anyone has any experience with them, please chime in. From what I can tell, they do great tuning on Ford, Chevy and Mopar.

AZ is a Federal OBD2 emissions state. 1996+ is OBD2 plug in check only. No visual inspection. Buddy had a 1996 Civic hatch ego-killer making 800 to the wheels. Had the Turbo sticking out the hood. Smog tech pulled him in, plugged in OBD2 and he passed. lmao welcome to AZ

Forge it, add 300 shot of nitrous and some Corn. You'll be gapping these AZ hoes in no time!

c7z so damn sexy
Agreed. The only issue are the seats not fitting my 6’3” frame at all, so i’ll have to either buy new seats or get them adjusted wider at a shop.

Great deals to be had on C7’s due to the C8, so im leaning that way.

Not gonna lie-This thread has me rethinking a C5Z again....

These threads always get me thinking. C5Z vs C6. C6Z vs C7. Which way to go? I was in the C5Z vs C6 debate, and went with a C6 with LS2. I like pulling the roof off.
