looks like 1800 black ones were made, so probably 1000 remain.

Like most, I much prefer the lines of the C6. If you ever get a chance to compare the interiors, it's no contest. Most say the C6 has a cheap interior, but I'm willing to bet those people never spent time in a C5.

Go to the dark side. I miss my C6Z dearly...
To be honest, even though it was like getting in and out of a bathtub, the last years of the C4 had an awesome interior. It actually felt luxury. Carpet up to your eyeballs.

Cheapness is one thing, styling another.

C5's interior is aging nicely with that retro 90's minimalist vibe.

I think a base C6 interior has not aged well.

Aftermarket seats, upgraded carpet and a steering wheel would go a LONG way.

Totally agree... c5 interior has aged better than the c6 IMO.

The fun factor for the C5Z cannot be measured. Out of the 30 something sleds i’ve owned this one stands out as it was an absolute blast to drive.

LS6 responds insanely well to mods too. My H/C/I/E setup was nuts, the best description was that it felt like you were tearing a hole through time when you hit it.

If you decide to go this route, replacing the valve springs should be the very first mod.

My old C5Z

so I will have some extra cash soon ....don't tell the wife LOL I have been looking for a cheap sports car budget 15k-ish . I have never owned a vette before. I hear the LS3 is super reliable and a great car. So ....what do you guys think ?

wish list: 2 door coupe, $15k or less, somewhat fast, reliable, lots of mods (already had a coyote so that's a no)
OP, your post title shouldve read, “Rookie catcher looking for action”. ;)

my vote is c5z. I remember it like it was yesterday when my buddy bought a brand new 02. With only a set of Nitto drag radials, it ran 11.90s @118mph all day. Impressive in 2002 and still impressive today.

Exactly! They trapped 115+ bone stock. It was insane back then for a N/A car.
