@Mojo88, that's another very good possibility of what is generating the alert. Being that the sound is louder than most battery alert beeps, I'm now thinking your theory is better. A warning alert HAS to loud because you have to be able to hear it from a distance. So yeah, this seems to be more of a situation alert from a gas/CO/ detection device.

Im with the tank alert guys. Are you on septic? If so, your floats could be getting caught up. I have the same system. Tank alert will go off every once in awhile. Just a blip, it's the alert float just coming up a little before the pump float switch flips. This is my experience, look for a box somewhere in the nerve center of your house. It might say tank alert, about 8"x8" box.

Forgot about the septic alarm, mine sounds very similar if not exactly the same. Also check your basement sump pump alarm if you have one as well.

Do you have a sump pump? Our old house had one with a battery back up, the battery eventually failed and the alarm made a random beep. Took me a bit to pinpoint what it was.

Nope, no sump pump for the house.

Or, could be a vibrator in the sock drawer.

I'll go check the hidden vibrators throughout the house :)

Sounds like a device of some kind giving a warning (not full alarm) signal. My house has gas detectors, CO detectors, smoke detectors, etc, so they all make warning noises... usually when low battery or some other trouble. Most of these devices have little LED lights on them that will flash to indicate an issue of some sort. So I would look around at the devices and see if one is flashing.... usually one or two flashes every 30 or 60 seconds, something like that.

Guaranteed it is an alert of some type, likely for a low battery. Problem is, it doesn't repeat frequently enough where you can move around the house to try to pinpoint the source. I'd scour the house first for any devices that use batteries and that emit a beep/alert when the battery is low. Some devices have a test button that you can press to sound the same beep alert. If it is battery related, my experience is that some devices initially emit a beep alert with longer periods of time between beep alerts, and then as the battery gets weaker start the device will start to emit the alerts more frequently. That's when it becomes easier to find the source. The last time I had an alert beep it took me at least two days to find the source, because my ear seemed to place the source from different locations in our downstairs kitchen/family room/hallway.

Yea, that was my first thought, but have zero idea what warning alarm would make a noise that loud.

You thought something was going to jump out at you too? I was waiting for it!

now that you mention it, an April fools would have been a good idea...

Wait a minute.....

Where's the baby?

Baby only sleeps in the crib in the nursery for her naps. Once we go down for the night, she sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed. Now that she's getting older, we will transition her to full time sleep in the crib shortly.

Sounds like the end of the period. Do you frequently see a zamboni anywhere shortly after hearing this noise?

Smoke alarms have three beeps.
Carbon monoxide alarms have four beeps.
Alarm low battery alerts usually chirp every 15-30 seconds.

Yours is strange because it only chirped once in a 24 hr. period and had been quite for a span. Doesn't sound like a septic alert; at least it doesn't sound like the ones I found through Google.

Strange one for sure.

So have you tracked down the smoke/CO detector? Find that thing and hold it up to your car exhaust to see what the alarm sounds like
