So my Stihl BG85 finally shit the bed. Had it for 9 years and worked
excellent....Time for an upgrade.

Any recommendations? Stick with Stihl? Or Husky or?

I have a smaller battery one for our patio so need another gas unit.

Have a 3 acre lot with a lot of trees so it may be time for a more powerful unit.....

Budget of $300.00

I got a Echo backpack from Home Depot and it works fine. Unfortunately I tore my rotator cuff in a fall down a flight of brick stairs so putting on a backpack is an ordeal. Stihl dealers in my neck of the woods are not customer friendly

Had my craftsman for quite a while now, I have tons of craftsman stuff, tractor, snowblower, chainsaw, and never had an issue with anything from them.

I've had good luck with Stihl. BR450 backpack has lots of power for my 1+acre. It's the largest of the "small" line.

Stick with stihl
My local dealer is a small family owned business, they give me “trade in” value off the new one whenever I upgrade.

worth asking if it has any value, they could fix it and sell it used

I found a cheap snapper from Walmart for like $100. Gutted the muffler and adjusted the a/f ratio for max power and it runs like a champ.

I would get a backpack no matter what. I have a gas Toro that blows 200 mph but kills my forearms and back for any extended use.

Stihl BR600 Here...... next best thing to a push blower. Electric ones dont even come close to the power it makes.
