What do you spend on groceries per month?

My wife and I were looking at our budget today and realized that for a family of 3 (myself, wife, and 4 year old) we spend about 900$ a month on groceries. I’m thinking to myself that this is overkill but wanted to see what everyone else spends.

We spend roughly $1400 a month on food for a family of 4. My wife and I both are big advocates for buying the best quality food we can reasonably afford.

Roughly about $700-750 per month for 2 adults, 2 kids ages 10 and 3. We pretty much cook at home 98% of the time though so we don't eat out hardly ever.

I just went over my finances yesterday and was blown away that my wife and I spent $690 on groceries this month. I do feed my mom about three nights a week and I included beer in the figure.

We spend 700-800 a month for 3 adults and 2 children. I do most of the grocery shopping and buy in bulk whenever possible. I also stock up on things when I see a deal. I could drop it lower if I stopped cooking BBQ (ribs, brisket, pork butts) as much as I do but we all enjoy the results. Buying in bulk allows us to keep our costs down and still eat really good.

Keeping my eye out for deals and buying in bulk has greatly benefited us during this virus situation. Our freezer is always stocked as well as the pantry so when people were loosing it and spending 500-1000 on groceries to stock up we were able to sit back and let things settle. No BS we have roughly 3-4 weeks in food at all times in the house and could probably make it longer if everything fell apart.

Not much. My diet is very limited and I don’t touch junk food, soft drinks, or alcohol.

Just my wife and I, we spend around $350-400. We do buy a bulk of buying at Costco and meal plan out well.
Wife and I are about in the same category as you. We shop mainly at Costco and BJs, with a small amount at Stop & Shop. We eat out maybe 4 or 5 times a month (dinner) and maybe 8 times for lunch.

We are the exact same, a few times a month we eat out. We pack most of our lunches since we eat fairly healthy for the most part.

I got most of my hurricane prep taken care of this month so not a fair assessment. I have $500/month budgeted for me *edit* +1 human +2 pets */edit* and usually come in under.

I love steaks and the closest Costco is a 2hr drive :(

I eat out daily, but almost always keep it under $10, so there's $300 a month. Maybe $450 tops counting what little I cook at home.
