I usually can google-fu these answers or search them on a forum but I can't for the life of me find the part number or even if I have to replace the GT fuel line for something else for an IRS swap. The car has been swapped for 2 years and has been fine but I remember reading that you are supposed to change a fuel line too and I'm about to drop the tank to do the pump. Something about the GT fuel line being too close to the IRS exhaust but like I said I've had 0 issues at all

Thanks if anyone has any info or a part number. Its probably discontinued like everything else for the IRS lol.

I've been under my 01 and 04 Cobras, my son's 98 and 99 GT's, and my daughters 03 V6. All the lines under the car look the same. If anything I would think the IRS would be safer for the fuel line as the cradle doesn't move. The only place I can think of the line being close to the exhaust is the same place on all cars. It crosses down from the tunnel to the passenger side of the car. The IRS has nothing to do with that spot. I say leave it alone.

There is no issues with the GT fuel lines. They are the same as the cobra and are also routed in the same locations. If ford was going to change the lines on the cobra for the IRS they would have put the fuel filter in an easier to access location.

Ok got it, maybe that was for the 98-down cars or something... Thanks. I did the fuel filter 7k miles ago on this sucker when I did the IRS so hopefully good.

Like they said, it's all good. I ran an 04 IRS for 5yrs in my Mach before switching back to built SRA and no issues. Never had to switch any fuel lines.

For clarification, no modification needed to the fuel lines on 98 and down cars either. I did modify the brake line, but that was personally preference so I could run 03-04 braided flex lines and hook up like factory 03-04 cars. Not a requirement to do the swap.

Hmmm ok cool. I specifically remember someone saying there was a fuel line to change so it didn't get near the exhaust but that person might have been talking out of their ass.

Ok well this week is just the fuel pump assembly and battery box while the tank is down I guess so I can move the battery to the trunk. I'm quarantined here in Spain because the whole country is shut down so I'll be doing a lot of projects on the car, my RC planes and my PC.

Hah. When I was swapping my rear springs (dropping the rear of the IRS) I was told that it would be a good time to change the fuel filter. "Ah, how hard can that be to do it later?" Two days to change the filter. Yup, I gave up and lowered the IRS again.

Yep. I wouldn't say it's impossible but it's pretty close. It's such a bitch to do with the irs in that if I had to pull my irs 6 months after changing the filter I'd do it again.

After doing the swap its not that hard to drop the rear of the IRS. Getting the front to line up with the bolt holes on the right side was a goddamn nightmare for me tho... I'm still amazed I got it. I want nothing to do with dropping it all the way out of the car again lol.
