So my Dad has a coworker that lives out on a farm and my Dad went over to check out a car that had been sitting in one of their garages. The guy is willing to let the car go fairly cheap but we don't really know anything about them and if its even worth the hassle.

The car is a 1952 Allard J2X I believe. Does anyone know anything about these? Me or my Dad have never heard about them until now. Here are a few pictures.

It has been several years around 1995 but I saw one at the corvette museum in Bowling Green, KY. They had the car running while we were there and it sounded awesome.

Pay the guy , get it loaded before he figures out what it is worth .

Caddy powered. Pretty desirable. Selling fully restored in the $200-450K range.

I'm sure someone is interested in it and you could get quite a bit more than you pay for it...

Keep us posted and if you get it, post up more pics!

They are neat cars.

That is a K2.. NOT a J which is unfortunate. If you are paying a proper company to rebuild it you wont net a penny on that car. Its worth it if you do your own body work and can find all the missing parts in the barn

There seems to be many more J2 , than K2 Allard.
That has the 4 carbs , there is one on hemming , only a single carb .
In Hemings and elsewhere I have run a quick search , total production was 119 , of those seems 40 some left hand drive .
Unrestored prices are substantially more than what you stated purchase price is .
It is an aluminum body , and appears to have. Been covered .
Get better pictures please .

Here's a restored 1952 K2.

Would be fun to restore and drive it.

Here's a walk-around video of one.

Other way around, the K2 had the highest production number. The J's are THE cars to get and worth many times more than a K2.

I sent off the pics to our guy who restores classic concourse grade british cars to see what he can tell you about the off engine, hood scoop and missing door.

Bottom line is, yes 4k is cheap for any Allard but you have to love the car yourself as its going to cost what its worth to restore as in what its worth in mint shape... It will be a ton of money up front so make sure its something you really want.

Or buy it and flip it as is for a few thousand maybe.
