I clamped the caliper in a vice wrapped in a rag and hit a bolt threaded into the bushing. It didn't take much to come out. Same as the other guys.

Guess I'll start doing some arm/chest exercises and try to man up... I beat on it with a hammer using a bolt threaded in for a solid 10 minutes and it moved maybe 1mm.

These guys and their 3-4 hits to get it out... it took me wayyy more effort than anticipated too but just keep going, or maybe a heavier hammer? I used a copper hammer and smaller regular one but eventually got them

Got one side of the 13.25" Baer rear rotor upgrade installed to help balance out the bias. I need to have the wheel rebalanced, because the glue on weights on the inside hit the banjo bolt.

Naturally my alternator went out so I won't be able to give feedback until I get it replaced under warranty.

Stock 38mm, if you go 42mm just stay stock rotor. My goal is to not change pedal feel.

Man that's a giant rotor. Any idea on the weight from OEM to new?

Hi everyone,
I'm not new to the page been a lurker for awhile, I stepped away from the mustang scene because I had to grow up and put my big boy pants on, but I'm slowly coming back and I just recently discovered this whole ATS brake swap thread. I just recently got my bushings from lowranger. Kinda tossed up between the ATS or XTS calipers and I actually have that same upgrade kit from Baer for the rear of my 95.

My question is if I were to go with the XTS and 14" GT500 disc and using the Baer+ in the rear would the brake bias still be close or should I just got with the ATS setup and the Baer setup maybe with the 42mm vargas on the rear. I don't know just kinda lost right now.

2nd question besides from what I have already seen on here picture wise with the xts caliper bolted with the disc and comparing to the 13" cobra disc has anyone actually ran that setup?

I did a test fit of the XTS calipers this weekend so I can answer that for you.

The GT500 brakes are HUGE behind that 18" Saleen wheel. The calipers BARELY clear the barrel and do touch the face of the rotor though I have not milled the ears down 2mm yet. Placement of wheel weight may need to be......creative.

All I have to say is WOW! I'm sold now I'm definitely going with XTS setup!

Do you think it needs to be milled or are you just going to use what was provided with low rangers kit?

The difference between the offset for The gt500 and cobra rotor is around .020. I would use the parts provided in my kit and see how it looks.

I would use lowrangers kit as it makes this brake upgrade fairly easy. I will be doing the "milling" myself as I have the tools.

I'll see if I can weigh the new rotor. The new rotor isn't vented and is narrower so it'll be interesting to see what it weighs. They also offer slotted/drilled which could drop the weight some more, I just wanted a more stock look.
