Half the office is working from home the next couple of weeks. Since I don't have any kids, and everyone with kids seemed set for this week, I am working from home. Although I had to run in this morning because I couldn't get my voicemail working.

Next week could be a problem for people needing child care if those facilities start closing down so I figure I can go in next week.

And our governor is set to announce at 2 today that all bars, pubs, and restaurants are closed to dining and can only do take out and and delivery starting at 5. Guess my wife and I will have a Guinness and Irish whiskey at home tonight.

My wife and I are working from home for at least the next 2 weeks. We both have coronavirus symptoms so we're monitoring those. We chose to self-isolate which leads to us working now from home. Fortunately we can do that.

Good luck Bob.
Hopefully whatever you and your wife has passes and it's not serious!

I got the notice yesterday that we are doing a 5/8's split shift. Two weeks on site and two weeks from home. My normal schedule is 4/10's. I'm not sure what I'm expected to do from home, I hope to find that out today. I have some paperwork to do from the turnaround we just finished and some computer based trainings I can take care of but other than that I don't know. The vibration database is on a secured network that doesn't allow outside connections. Wife is a teacher, so her and the kids will be home for the foreseeable future. Should be interesting.

I have to go into work. But school (UTSA) just went to online for the rest of the semester, that should be interesting.

My wife and I have been going into work. She has no choice because she is a nurse. I don’t have a choice not to go in either, working on popo cars and public utility vehicles. I have heard one of the departments in our division is working split shifts, one week on one off. Yesterday we were told one of our supervisors wife may have been exposed to this at her work. He is staying at home. Just hope he didn’t have symptoms before being told to stay home.

Yesterday was my last day at the office until further notice. Gathered up everything I need, got my instructions from IT and was damn near pushed out the door! I hope I have the discipline to work from home...

Just got word from our owner that he plans on shutting down our entire operation in both Tijuana and California on Friday. That is 1,300 jobs...

Aaaaaaaand I just got laid off

Dang bro, really sorry to hear that. You'll probably end up with a better gig in the long run once this shit is all sorted out.

Sounds like your IT team was unprepared for this. Time to crack some skulls haha

Nah, our network backbones off another agency in our building. We don't have control of the line or bandwidth. We are just bystanders :)

oof, having to piggyback off someone else's line is never an ideal situation. can't control what goes on. Well at least that gives you guys an excuse to sit at home watching netflix for the next few months :)

Hint. Indeed is a go to tool in NORTHERN Virginia Area. The grass will need to mowed soon. If someone needs to be hooked up, I'll provide link. It is not big bucks, but work for those that like the outdoors with minimal contact.

Same with my daughter's Architecture classes at UTSA. Not sure how you can build studio models online. She said the professors warned them to be ready because a shit ton of info and work was OTW.
