Our family owned both gen GT models back when they were new. The second gen was much better looking but the first gen was more fun to drive with the turbo motor.

I had a 1990 white one new back in the day. Intercooler was a big deal lol

That Turbo motor was a giant POS. Had a buddy with one and it would break down weekly, can't even recall all the things that failed on that car lol.
Also watched a chrysler lebaron walk the Turbo Probe when it was healthy-ish. Terrible.

Oh yeah, U.M., I well remember Bob Glidden racing his Probe Pro Stock back then.

It might look ugly today, but back then it was pretty well received. To the point where Ford wanted to kill the Mustang and replace it with the Probe. But for the fact that the Probe didn't offer a V8, history might be very different. Thankfully our friend Coletti stepped up to the plate (see my post above for the link) and reminded his superiors that it would be a fatal mistake to do that. Common sense ultimately prevailed.
