Trying to figure out my next step. So I just had a set of injectors flowed and they came back all 8 flowing 12% less than what they are advertised at. He said they did not leak and had a good stream. I understand that there is a variance and they are not all going to flow exactly the advertised flowrate but having all 8 the same amount low is kinda fishy.

So my question is do I get them reflowed by another company. (Who do you recommend) or since they don't leak and the flow strong do I install them and tune to them.

Knowing that the flow 12% less than what there suppose to, will they meet your needs without pushing the limits?

Subd. Do not know anything about flow testing but will come in handy at some point.

Yes by a large margin.

I say if your not above 78% on the flow needed by the injectors then the 12% less should be within a good safety margin. And if they all flowed within each other should be fine.

Was the flow testing done by a reputable tester?

I am not an expert or a professional in this field. That being said, I would not be overly concerned with the flow results. A lot of factors can contribute to the final results. Since you say that there is a large margin between the actual flow rate and what you need, what matters more is the balance between the eight injectors. Are they within a few percent of each other? If not, I would look into buying a new set of flow matched injectors. They won't be perfect either, but close enough.

Which either way you go, you have a chart of the flow rates for each injector. If your particular engine/set-up is known for having lean or rich cylinders, I would install the injectors accordingly, in an effort to better balance the engine. This too will not be perfect, but should be better than just randomly installing them.

Are you saying they're fakes/counterfeit?

I was wondering if they're advertised at a different base fuel pressure. Something like XXlb/hr @ the GM spec of 43psi, which would be lower at the typical Ford 39psi.

What base pressure did the injector supplier get their advertised numbers? Compare that to the base pressure in your flow tests. If they are the same then I'd send those back and demand a refund. What brand injectors?

It was 3bar to 3 bar. Come to find out the guy had no idea what he was doing and flowed them with the spacer on the bottom blocking the flow.

Bosch injectors flowed 3bar to 3 bar. Come to find out when I went back to look the injectors over I realized he flowed them with the spacer hat on the bottom.

What made you get them tested to begin with?

Was trying to get flow data to put into my MS3Pro so each individual injector was exact.

Why would you not want to run the test just as the injectors will be installed in the car?

It would seem that the spacer has a negative effect on flow, which is good for you to know.

The injectors don't leak and they don't stick open which was a something I wanted checked. I will just use the injector data that they come with from the factory and use my dual wide bands to land it where they need to be. In the end it maters more in the tune in the car then what they flow on some dudes machine.
