Thank God for other choices. Funny, I was watching a Dodge commercial last night (the one with Vin Diesel) and thought, "now if only Ford cared as much about (real) performance vehicles across the board and about the passion we have for performance". Outside of the high performance Mustangs, there is really nothing to really speak of.

Eh, I disagree. The FiST, FoST, FoRS and obviously gone...but they were all very impressive in their respective classes. The new Explorer/Edge STs are actually impressive as well, without sacrificing ride comfort.

The nice thing about Ford going with a fleet of turbos, power is cheap and easy. A tune and a few bolt ons are the flavor of the day. Hell, even the 5600# Ford Expedition hauls ass with a tune.

The 2 door looks sick. If it alum body, I may be getting one of these next.

And lol at the people says no solid front axle, wont be as good as jeep. Noone offroads their SUVs. Jeep people are the worst. 37s and lift to drive around town. The most action they see is a beach. Why would you spend 30-50k on a SUV to damage it on a trail anyways? Seems like most of the serious trail guys have dedicated builds they trailer in, so even they are not offroading their drivers.
Not to mention you have to replace the front axle on a jeep to run 37's (unless you mall crawl) and that shit isnt cheap either. My buddy has a JK rubi on 37s and it cant do anything my LT IFS ranger cant and I have a piss poor crawl ratio.

This new full size Bronco will be badass with a 4wd LT kit and im looking forward to seeing the builds

This is the Ford Freelander. Literally a Freelander without the green badge(and even back then the Land Rover badge was an overlay of the Ford Blue Oval).

The bigger Bronco looks tits. Should sell insanely well in 2 door trim.

You sound like the kind of person that this vehicle was built for. ‍♂️

I agree most people aren’t taking their brand new rig out and beating it off-road but eventually that 30k rig turns into a 5-10k rig and people that actually want to wheel something like that will...or won’t in the case of this thing.

And immediately void the warranty on it.

Didn’t disappoint? Let’s see, gt500, no manual trans and ugly, not to mention priced out of the range of most enthusiasts by greedy dealers, FGT is made out of unobtainium and even if you have the 500k, you gotta beg to get on the list. Focus RS gone, No Ranger Raptor on this side of the ocean even though they are all over Australia, Mustang Mach E, now the Bronco going to be the latest disappointment.

You disappoint me with your negativity haha

The GT500 wasn't built for a blue collar guy that likes to change his own oil. It was built to take market share from upper echelon vehicles.
The FGT wasn't built to have one on every corner.
Focus RS was around for 3 years.
The Ranger Raptor isn't coming to the states, but there have been plenty of vehicles not hop the pond.
The Mach E is actually a bad ass vehicle, and is the tipping point to what we will see as far as EV goes.
The Bronco isn't a disappointment, I assure you. Give it a couple of weeks.

What's a warranty?

I don’t care so much about voiding the warranty on a performance car, like a mustang or camaro or whatever. But voiding it on a people hauler mom mobile like an edge, or whatever ford is turning Out now, just doesn’t sound so great long term.

Why not? What's the difference?

Because the performance car is going to be tuned sooner or later either by me or the next owner and is almost expected.

Telling Karen that the Ford Edge she is looking at buying is out of warranty at 10k miles because Billybob wanted more from his ecoboost, isn’t going to sit well.

I think you're just arguing just to argue.

Tell Karen to go buy a ****ing Edge SEL, not an ST.

People buying the mustang probably don’t car much at all about a warranty.

The family buying the edge probably do.

I don’t know what to tell you man

Some people that buy Mustangs leave them stock, the vast majority of people. The minority alter the tune in their vehicles, whether it be an Edge ST or a Mustang GT, period.

Your argument is ridiculous.

"It's ok to tune a Mustang, it's expected....NOOOOO don't tune an Edge!"

C'mon bro.

I think it looks pretty good but there is no 5.0 option so I’m not a buyer.

I mean, it’s ok to tune either of them. I don’t care.

what I’m saying is, tell the person coming in to buy a mustang that “this car with 10k miles is tuned and has no warranty” and see how they react.

now tell a family coming in to buy an edge that “this car with 10k miles is tuned and has no warranty” and see how they react.

some people might care about the mustang but I think most people would pass on the tuned edge.

Just out of curiosity, how many times a year do you do either? Just trying to get a grasp on why you're an industry titan in this area of expertise.

Then sell them another Edge ST? Pretty sure there is more than one ST out there, and then just sell the tuned one to someone like us.

I disagree Nick. The Explorer ST and Edge ST are not "ST" worthy performance vehicles IMO. Especially the Edge ST. The power in the Edge ST is no greater, if not less than, the Sport. I owned a Sport. I test drove the ST. NO difference other than the transmission. The Explorer ST, granted, is better all around, performance wise, than the old Explorer Sport, but not to the degree it should be garnishing the ST badge. I didn't buy an Edge ST because it drove and handled no different than my '16 Sport. The only improvement, performance wise, was the better transmission. I know you're going to disagree with me, and that's fine. Aftermarket tunes and bolt-ons to sweeten the Edge and Explorer STs? Of course owners can do that, at a very reasonable cost. But, why didn't Ford do it? Why didn't Ford go with better seats with more side support? And better brakes? Stuff a true Ford Performance ST model should come with from the factory. You surely know that an aftermarket tune will usually void the engine warranty. Now if Ford had done it from the factory (it's not like the engine can't handle an additional 50-75hp), the warranty would cover it. Sorry Nick, you're missing the point about what a true factory Ford Performance ST should be. Aftermarket parts and tunes can make pretty much any car a stronger performer on the street. But that's not a factory package. What Ford fans really wanted was ST performance from the factory.
