Honestly I would have, but I had an issue with the grille. Since Ford molds the grille with the shape of the snake emblem you can't just remove it without cutting and remolding the grille. Anything you put over it 1 would have to be huge and 2 would simply look stupid.

I built the car for me and nobody else so the quality of the job I did will always come over anything you guys or anybody else have to say. IMO The 13/14 GT500 is easily the best looking S197 , but the GT got the better drivetrain. I built what I feel like Ford should have built.

In the end everybody has their thing. Some people will buy something because they either don't have the time or the skill and I have no issue with that. Then you have guys like me that can repair and paint a show quality car, build it to handle over 1000hp and then turn around and tune it the exact way you want it to drive.

You guys think I'm a poser for putting something as silly as an emblem on my car to make it look the way I want and I think you guys are posers because this hobby is about hot rodding and 90% of you can't do 10% of what I've done to my car. So the next time you guys take your car to the shop to have that CAI tuned that you just installed and are proud of I hope you think of me.

Why would I think of poser trying to pass his car off as something it's not?

Nice car but the snakes got to go. Only Shelby’s should wear those Cobras. Put the 5.0 badges on and be proud of what you own. Fooling people that it’s a Shelby is lame.

Leave YOUR car the way YOU like it, hell, you could put snakes on YOUR lawnmower if you want, who cares what others think. Badges do not make a GT a GT or a Shelby a Shelby. They are just decorations.

That doesn’t explain the cobras on the fenders. Other grills besides the Shelby grill will also work on your car. It’s not like you don’t have a choice. Like others have said I could care less about what people do to their cars, I just put this into the same category as the guy with a Honda Civic with BMW logos on it or the V6 mustangs with over the top stripes.

As far as the drivetrains go, the GT500s came with the Ford GT engine. This will forever cement this car as something special. You can make a 5.0 with 1000hp and it will still never have the notoriety as the 5.4L in the GT500. Again I think you need to focus on what you have and stop comparing it to something that it will never be.
Cobra emblem on the grille and 5.0 badges on the fenders sounds as bad to me as cobra emblems on a GT sounds to you. This is something your not getting, if I wanted a GT500 with a 5.4 or 5.8 with a tr6060 and stock colors I would have bought one. I DID NOT build the car for you or anybody else to drool over it because of the emblems on the side, I built it for me and only me. You think of a GT500 as something special when I think of it as another car. This early in it's life it's not special, it's just a car that has potential to be something special one day.

As for the grille your wrong. All the grilles that fit a GT500 bumper CORRECTLY all have the spot to put a cobra emblem. I searched did you? 13/14 GT's have a slightly different shape.

One last thing is the FGT was a dry sump 5.4 with a twin screw. You saying a GT500 came with the FGT engine is as bad a saying the Raptor has a FGT engine.

Why did you quote my post? Zero relevance to anything quoted.

Back to the misbadging comments- why stop at putting cobras on a GT? Why not put some CTS-V and Z06 emblems on too? I mean those are nice emblems, I like the way they look.

there you go comparing your GT to a GT500 again. Too bad since you have a good looking 5.0.

Why would I care coming from somebody that thinks I would put a badge on my car to impress someone else? If I didn't want you guys to know it was a GT I wouldn't of told you and nobody would ever know the difference.

I know it's a good looking 5.0 and everything I've done to it including the emblems contribute to it. I already know how a lot of you are which is why I never shared the build with you guys and that's just too bad because every one of you would have enjoyed it. Some of you guys just don't deserve the time or free knowledge that I can give.

Go ahead. if you like the CTS-V oor Z06 emblems, by all means go right ahead, put 'em on. Hell, put both on your Mustang if you like. it's your car and your choice. That wouldn't be my first choice but I certainly wouldn't want to stand in your way of personalizing your car any way you like.

At first read I was gonna say never put SS badges on one thats not a SS. But now, Im gonna buy an old datsun b210 just to put porshe badges on it!
Thats pretty gangster man. I bet all the 911 Owner's club members will have a jacket waiting for you. According to a few of our members here, its not what the car is, its the intent in the owners heart. :D

I find it ironic.

The reality is, such a small percentage of people worldwide let alone in your hometown will actually know the difference between your faked badge car, and the real thing. The only thing an original badge does for you is tell you what it was new.

Nowadays, 79-04 cars are old, and even early gen GT500's are getting old. They're all mixed up, smashed, swapped, messed with, and hardly stock. When I walk up on a fox the last thing I think of is whether it was a factory V8 car. It just is whatever the owner made it to be now.

The only people who care about titles/vins are the ones who need the satisfaction at night knowing they are somehow more special than the other guys.

It's still a Bullitt (GT) regardless of what you do to it.
Ask yourself this:
If I sell it, would I advertise it as a Bullitt?

I honestly don't care. I bought the car for $1,600 because I like the new edge body style and the Bullitt is the closest to what I want the car to look like in the end.

Creating tributes/Clones are fine in my book. The problem comes when the badging is added to represent something it's not. Build the car you want . You like everything a Shelby is..fine. Modify the car and add everything BUT don't add the badges as it's still not a Shelby. When you represent something it's not, it's still dishonest and 95% of people will assume it's something it not. That I think is why people do it. Some call them posers or fakes and that is exactly what they are. Also to pile on the new Super Snakes from Shelby American are not Snakes. You have to be born a Snake to be a Super Snake.
