Ever installed urethane bushings and they got wore out quickly?

As the title says, any of you ever install urethane bushings and they get sloppy loose on ya within a year? Only has the bushings for barely a year and while replacing the rear end, I noticed that on the rear upper control arms....the bolt sleeves would slide in and out of the urethane bushings with ease unlike when I installed them. The lowers were just fine. After that, I started thinking that maybe the front suspension bushings could be doing the same. For months I did what I could to tighten up the front caliper and got them quiet. But I still have this "bopple" sound when the suspension drops real quick like in a pothole or speed bump. Driving me nuts. Thinking of going back and getting original rubber bushing pressed back. Any thoughts or experiences you guys had would be appreciated!

Sounds like they were too soft for the job. Urethanes can be made anywhere from spongy to rock hard.

What brand did you use?

I haven't used poly bushing in years because of the noise they make. I'm running rubber bushing now, but I'm likely going to try Delrin bushing soon.

Delrin is known to be tougher than poly and quiet. If you don't mind the additional NVH you can always go with solid bushing. I don't have any experience with solid bushings on my Mustangs.

I went with Prothane from LMR. Prolly should have done more research at the time. I don't mind the stiff ride but those hard impacts are wearing on my nerves when riding over repaired potholes lol. Far as NVH, think my OCD is kicking in lmao. The occasional ride in my wife's Camry XSE doesn't help none. It has a good stiff ride but also is very smooth. I want to keep my stiff ride/nobody roll in those turns, it's that dang impact...ugh! Hopefully the SVT springs and Koni suspension will keep it that way if I go back to rubber.

Poly bushings suck.

Yes, they rot out fast, yes they squeak, yes you have to properly lubricate them.

I swear it's a scam.

I'd challenge anyone to do a before and after, on the track, and prove they improve performance. They just increase noise and vibration and people think = race car.

And *pikachu shock*, replace 15 year old worn out factory bushings with shitty new ones, owner sees improvement!!

You'll get better results using new OEM bushings.

I got my best ride with a complete FTBR racing kit. The stiffness of the bushing forces the suspension to articulate smoothly.

Only thing I use Poly for is shit that doesn't move. Like my IRS subframe bushings, motor/trans mounts and the bushings under the CC plates. That's really it... Delrin for anything that moves. Delrin will last 10x as long as poly or longer and has 0 slop in it. Have the entire FTBR kit in my IRS except for the subframe to include the aluminum front diff mount and the thing is rock solid with 0 wheel hop. Delrin MM control arms up front with MM subframe and the MM aluminum rack bushings.
