I would be extremely happy with either. Both the best of the best. As far as Cams I would really look into getting a set from Todd Warren (NASVT).

I went Livernois because they believe in steel guides vs bronze for the street which is what I think is best. Fox Lake said Bronze will last on the street but a lot of others don't agree. The down side is Livernois was more expensive but I chose them because I agree'd with their advice.

I've got some first-hand experience with Fox lake and have high regard for them.

Livernois is well thought of too. I believe their flow numbers are better than Fox lake as well. I have a set of cams from Todd too, but haven't installed them yet to give you results.

I would love to hear more on this.

Ed from ModFords did a comparison chart of the reported flow from porters above. Note that the top Livernosis port had 1MM oversized valves. They are all CNC and are pretty close in reality. Look for the one that has consistently done good work on the port and valve job. A great port with a bad valve job or quality issue can mean compression leaks, dropped valve seats, burnt valves or worse.

I just had some heads done by foxlake within the last couple months. I opted for oversized valves and a little bit of handporting on the intake. He does a good job setting expectations based upon his busy he is with turnaround time frame. I'd give Ron a call.

Livernois does a good job too, but I don't have first-hand experience with them.

I have a shop local to me that does some pretty great work! Likely a whole lot cheaper than the big shops also. Will be squeezing over 1500whp out of these mofo's very soon.

Honestly both are great choices and I’ve had experience with both.
I’ve heard Accufab’s John Mihovetz works with both shops but that Fox Lake does his personal heads.
You really can’t go wrong with either, one of the few times I’d say go with the cheaper quote.
Good luck and please post some pics and your review.

How is their turn around time on heads from them? Been looking into then being that they're the only few shops that actually list their prices.

Vic

They were about 3 weeks, which was fine, I think fox lake advertising 1999$ @ 2 week turn around. You can have them install the cams and valves if you want, you will want to do the rockers after degreeing
