Hi all. Been out of this game for like 20 years. Fairly recently I talked my wife into letting me build a Triumph Spitfire that my dad had. Rebuilt the thing and put a miata drivetrain in the thing. Then realized it didn't have enough seats for my kids and was kind of dangerous I think... Not fast, but quick, noisy, rattley and tiny. So sold, it looking for a four seat convertible that was a quick street car. Found a '06 GT convertible that was very clean with tasteful updates and a supercharger. Some other guy totaled it the weekend before I was going to go look at the dealer and purchase....

So ended up with a 2011 GT convertible as of last November, bone stock with 90K. Car and available records seemed maintained, but not really babied. First thing was to polish the paint, work on headlights, etc... I also fixed the rash and repainted the rims (not perfect, but cheap solution) Next I did the Eibach Pro kit, LCA's, UCA and MGW shifter. Amazing what a change those upgrades made to driving this around town.

I have an e-force coming any time now that I want to get on before nice weather starts coming back.

Not really a track guy, just a weekend cruiser. This forum has been really helpful so far, so thanks.

Ryan

Welcome. I think you will be much happier with the 2011. Looking forward to seeing you upgrade it.

That's a nice looking 5.0. I'm sure you really enjoy cruising in it. And....Spring is fast approaching!

What is that blue and white cart thingy that I see in the foreground?

It's called a Toylander. A little electric car based off a Land Rover. A guy over in England sells plans/kitsch. I built it some years back for the kids for fun. Not cheap though but an adult can drive around in it.

I had never heard of a Toylander. Pretty neat. Is it a Toyland 1 or 2?

It is a 2. I bought the plans from them, lights, motors and motor controller and a few small miscellaneous parts. Sourced the rest over here due to shipping and exchange rate.

Welcome! Both to this forum and to back into fun cars. Im a sucker for nice black S197 GTs. Before I got my Shelby, I bought a new 2014 Mustang GT in black. My dad still has it (he LOVES that car).
