I sold my 2020 GT500...as soon as I get paid, I’ll dump most, if not all of it, into 2 USAA funds.

Tech was so overbought and is getting killed now. I see it continuing to go downward. I think the money that left energy and Industrials may go back into them.
I am liking US industrials here as they pay decent dividends and may have a production surge as we will see the overseas channels of items slow and it could bump USA products.

Time will tell but the USA economy is still strong.

made a little in tza yesterday and a little in tqqq this morning. Beyond that I’m still staying in cash for now.

As an complete novice investor I think I learned to take some profits when you’re at record highs. Don’t have to dump the entire stock but go ahead and get some cash for ammo

For somebody looking to dump money, where would you all suggest? I am cool with lower yields that offer dividends. Also wouldn’t mind something that could offer bigger payouts.

Companies are starting to warn of not making Q1 guidance numbers.. ..

Markets hate uncertainty

I think we still have a long ways to go down before people put money back in.

If I was to want to buy here I would probably only touch an ETF fund like the DIV where people may move money into for collecting the dividends.

What if this is a last ditch effort to get trump out of office? Take away the thing he is so proud of ("his economic accomplishments"). I'm not naming names, not even saying this is probable; just saying, what if?

Would not surprise me in the least.

But the moves Trump has made to strengthen the US' hand in the world economy will hopefully make the correction less painful. Considering how much product is made in China, it doesnt surprise me the stock market is freaked out.

But even with a bull market, there were sectors that were in need of correction, and perhaps the CV is just the catalyst needed. They are never fun, but it needed to happen.

Thoughts on where the bottom might be? This damn virus is gutting people's financial well-being. I'm 20 years from retirement, so for me it is a non-issue (as of right now), but for people close to or in retirement...YIKES!

People close to, or in retirement should have a portfolio much more resistant to this type of event.

I guess you're right. I just know a lot of people try to "catch up" in the final years before they retire, so maybe a lot of people are taking more risk in the market at such a late stage of the game to try to catch up.

Hard to say, this correction is being driven by shutdowns in China, expected corporate losses as a result and fear. At this point it's wiped out all gains in the past 12 months. It could stabilize any day or drop another 2-3k depending what happens in the next week or so.

I wonder what the market would look like with the Feds Fund Rate at around 5%. It seems to me like this Market is addicted to cheap cash.

On a random note, has anyone else made money on AMD during the last few years, or are there not many tech fans here? I am a huge fan of the company. :D

These are my thoughts after this week:

Every single day this week has been red.... by a lot.... the effects of the coronavirus are starting to hit. Chinese production plants have been shutdown for some time now, this also impacts US companies such as Apple, retail stores, food chains, electronic manufacturing, etc. We're now feeling those effects. Corona hasn't even hit the US yet. I feel like until a vaccine is released or it stops spreading like wildfire, the market will continue down into bear territory. I personally won't be dropping money in until the market starts to see some green days every week.

However, be watching DUST, GDX, NUGT. Will be interesting to see what happens to DUST tomorrow after its huge day today.
